Wheels fresh out of the paint booth [ pics ]

got the lobsters back today and put them on the car.

i have to say, the car def looks wider and meaner with the black wheels. gives the car some attitude

the gt3 wheels are going to the booth next because i cant get myself to like the silver strip on the outer edge after all

black caps are on the way for these as well.

out with the old:

in with the new:

I like it! More black on your car would blend the wheels in even more.

Consider:

- Black badging

- Black mirrors (at least top half)

- Black ceramic coated exh. tips

thanks for the tips. however, these are just my back up wheels and the GT3 wheels are going back on after they get painted this week or next. i have decided not to do the GT3's in black but in a custom silver instead

Looks great, love the black wheels. And I'm with you, I just can't bring myself to liking the silver band on black wheels.

I agree, if you were going to keep the black rims on...more black is needed to tie it in. Perhaps a rear wing of some sort....

I think it looks really good. However, black wheels need meatier tires. The look would be completed with a bit of lowering as well.

Nonetheless, it looks great. congrats.

Wait! I think those GT3 wheels with the silver lip look great! The GT3 wheels with the silver lip look even better than the lobsters with the silver lip.

But I'm obviously biased.

Looks great! i prefer the new set up to the old. For some reason brighter color porsches just look so good on completely black wheels. (maybe wheels draw attention from the body?)

Look great!! Paint or powdercoat? Did they mask the tires or paint with tires off? Where did you get them done?

these were painted with masking off the tires. the gt3 wheels will have the tires removed for paint. with good prep, paint lasts as good as PC. look how well the factory paint lasts and its far far premium.

i would never put a light weight cast wheel in the oven for powder coating. and im generally against PC for other reasons too like limited color choices, and lack of high gloss capability like basecoat/clearcoat paint.

i have an in at a local paint shop and i get my stuff done there. too bad you're not local.
