Pricing Advice/Help - 2006 997S

Need a little help here from all the experts (as I'm a bit new to Porsche's coming from BMW and MB).

I'm looking at a 2006 997S manual with just over 8,000 miles.

Fairly loaded with factory options including: Full Leather, Power Seat Package, Heated Seats, TPMS, Chrono, Nav, Bose, CD Changer, and Sport Shifter. (any factory options I'm missing here that you all feel is a "must have"?)

Also loaded with a fair amount of aftermarket equipment including Techart wheels, Techart Type 1 Wing/Skirts/Front Lip, H&R Springs, EVO Headers/Air Intake/Flash.

In the current sales market, what do feel would be a fair offer? Also, this is a sale from a private party and not a dealer. Does this help me, hurt me, or is irrelevant.

Thanks for any and all help/advice/opinion.

I saw a PP cab similarly optioned for about $55k, so a coupe should be around $50k? Those Techart wheels etc are worth something, so perhaps it would be worth a little more. Sounds like a great car. You can always buy a 3rd party warranty. PP deals should be better than dealers.

Black one ? California ? Did a search . Looks Nice!!!!

You have to check out the car . He did not list the exhaust but mentioned the headers . Worth asking.

The car is very tastefully done .

He spent alot of time effort and money on that car .
I am not crazy about H and R springs --especially on 20 in wheels . Especially Techart wheels . Heavy wheels , low harsh ride --yuk. A set of damptronics on 19's would make the car just right . You won't get to choose your mods on someone elses car . I really, really, really !!!! --dislike 20's . Always have .

I love the Techart kit and the way he paid attention to the inserts and small details of the car. The techart pedals might get slippery in the rain . In California it;s less of an issue and with low miles my guess is the car saw very little rain .

If a DME scan checks out . If a paint inspection shows no gaps or overspray . 57.5 sounds about right . He probably wants 60 . That just a pure guess of mine .

So split it . Close at 58,750

If the mods are worth it to you and he is offering $60k, that would be fair and right about what I paid for more all said and done.

Thanks for the great and detailed response. Yes, I'm thinking I'm not going to be a big fan of the ride on the 20" Techart's either. I'm actually not a huge fan of the Techart Formula wheel designs. I like the HRE P40's much better as well as the black OZ's on another member's car on a recent post here in the 997 section.

You mentioned that he did not list the exhaust but mentioned the headers and this was worth asking. Sorry but for a noob like me, what is the issue here and/or what should I be asking?

KBB has priced this car WITH factory options but WITHOUT the aftermarket add on's as a private party sale at $49,845 for "Good" condition and $52,245 as "Excellent" condition.

Edmunds price is $53,384 for "Clean" condition and $55,417 for "Outstanding" condition.

Total aftermarket options List Retail Price was $14,000.

If everything checks out with a PPI and no issues found, I should be around $57,000? To high? To low?

Wow, 55K for an 06 C2S! That is a great price for a great car, why try and split hairs on a few dolllars?

Sounds like a good price but my 2 dealers I know say once you flash the car any warranty is void..because if you bring it in for a problem..most of the time they can tell..not sure this is correct or not.

Regarding the exhaust -- I was asking about the mufflers . They are not listed .
I like the P40 also but have not yet seen one on an aerokit 997S . More common are the spoke P43 . I think the spoke C21 would look amazing . It's the spoke three piece competition wheel . Here's a forum members car . Imagine this complenting the aerokit on the black car . Yikes!!!

Good starting price . He's asking 65.

I think you can close at 58.5 . The big question is do you love the car? My feeling is that if you want to change the wheels and suspension I might be best to walk away from it . But if you buy it understand that someone spent alot of money and time to get all those parts installed.

That's why the car can cost 58 instead of 50 .Techart parts are not cheap.

Joe,

Not sure with ttt is in your area. I would say that $60-62k out the door would be fair, that would put the price around $56-58.5k

yrralis and skizot,

Thanks for the input and information. Sounds like $57k would be reasonable.

Seems like there are more cars in the range that I'm looking for (2006 997S with lower miles) coming on the market daily. With the color not being my first choice and me not completely feeling the 20" Techart wheels on it, I guess I won't feel to depressed if the seller doesn't come down to this price and I lose out. Always more fish in the sea I guess, just got to keep fishing.

If you are not sold on those Techarts I would offer 55 and walk . It gives you the wiggle room to eat the wheels and tires to go into 19's .

It's a nice looking car and it has a lot of goodies but they are not the things you want and to get out of them will cost you money .

The guy who buys that car has to love it the way it is . If he bites at 55 then you have better situation .

Yardape is infamous around these parts
I, too, have come from the BMW world... so I don't know the Porsche world all too well. However, one thing I have noticed with premium cars is that an extensive (and expensive) list of mods add nearly zero to the value of a used car and, in some cases, reduce value (unless you find the perfect buyer that wants all the mods you make). My point? Offer what you would if the car was 100% stock.
