Sorry, I don't know anything about tire and rim insurance. But if you take the car to a decent tire shop they should be able to put it in a water drum and find the leak for you. At least that's what we would do down here in Aussie.

911S--I've had slow leak nail problems twice; 1st time called Porsche dealer (in Florida) and they said that they were not allowed to repair this so I took it to a good tire shop and $25 dollars latter it was fine. 2nd time (in Indiana) different tire I had the car in a Porsche dealer for something else and said I thought I had a slow leak - they checked and could not find anything. 7 days and about 5# pressure loss later I took it to a good tire shop (Firestone); they found the leak in about 2 minutes and they too had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. They had a large book with different cars and tires which gave info on what they could repair and what they could not. These were both rear tires; both shops treated the car and the rims like a baby and assigned an experienced guy, not some highschool kid, to do the repairs. Everything has been fine for about 5000 miles now.

Do most 997 owners with only 2 in the car fill their tires to 33/39? I have a '06 997 C2 and didnt bother to see that 37/44 was for 4 in the car. Thanks!

33/39 is the std road TP (cold) for 2 passenger light load.

Another case of someone thinking their TPMS was going nuts that turns out to be TPMS reporting an honest leak in the tire..

I'm certainly apt to believe the TPMS systems info. Maybe the absolute pressure reported isn't accurate, but I'll believe the cold pressure (and if its high or low) are reliable.

ive had more than many leaks (tons of wheel combos)

A: check valve core (inside valve stem is a core... when they take air out they pull the core to do it instantly... sometimes they dont tighten back 110%...

B: bead leak, sometimes nipples can fall off or tape can be left on around bead causing a slow leak

C: multipiece wheels can leak at the joint, needs silicone then.

remove wheel , fill a bucket w/ water or toss the wheel in your pool/other water and look for bubbles... no bubbles then fill up PSI to around the "max pressure" and do it again... mark with grease pen while under water and take to local "discount tire" or other reputable tire shop... if the core=tighten, if the bead=pop bead at tire shop have them check around bead for any debris then lube the beads down like crazy and reseat them... if multipiece.. remove tire and apply silicone to leaking area and have them remount tire..

as far as TPMS sometimes the rubber gaskets fail, so if u see bubbles around the stem but not from core=gaskets... can usually get gaskets cheap at a reputable tire shop... like 1$/wheel

YES!!! read the manual...this is the tire pressure for 2 adults and luggage. You will get better grip and better tire wear with 33/39 than with the higher pressures.

33/40 is what I keep in mine. That will read 36/43 when fully warmed up.
