Importance of Nav, Sport Chrono, and Full Leather?
Actually neither. Not a daily driver or track beast. Strictly a weekend car for fun (but not on the track).
again just trying to make a suggestion based on if it were my weekend car..
im using my cab daily right now and the cab is a lil much for daily because road noise penetrating the top... i will get a coupe eventually for daily and a cab for when i wanna drop the top.. i love my full leather everytime i get in tho and every friend thats ridden in it points out the stitching as well.. so its surely noticeable.. the sports chrono would be more fun if it had the preset abilities of the 09 (ive heard you can store light/sound/etc settings on the 09 sports chrono package)
I have sports chrono and never use it. I have full leather and like the look, but could do without it. I don't have Navi and would only want it for purposes of resale. All these options IMO will help resale (which was part of your original question).
I've got sea blue full leather, nav, chrono, power, bose, etc. When purchasing the car, I was thinking I wish the car was cheaper and it would be if all that suff wasn't in/on there...but, I like the color, etc. so I jumped on it. Now that it's mine and I've had it for a year or so and the money is already spent, I'm glad that all of the options are in/on it. They are nice toys to have once you have them. I plan on keeping my car indefinately, so having the most loaded car I could find ended up a good thing. My friend also has a C2S, and I think it makes him a bit jeleous that he doesn't have all the bells/whistles. But the car he found didn't have them, and at the time he didn't care. I think that after it's all said and done, just like me, he wishes he had a more fully optioned car...because you make that decision in one day, but have to live with it for a long, long time.

i will say i dislike how porsche plays the "options game" everything is an option and it gets annoying.... alot of the "options" should be standard... like charge 140$ for floor mats, WHO DOESNT WANT THE FLOOR MATS? seriously.
I personally think that the sport chrono and navigation are worthless. Buying used, however, I would be reluctant to take a car without full leather or power/heated seats(other options that should be standard). Ordering the car again, I would definitely specify more leather options. I would not consider a non-S car.
True but Porsche is masters of it...
I don't have full leather on my '08 C4S, but I think it adds to the appearance of the interior. I was more concerned about durability of the interior as I plan to keep my car a long time, so I did not add it, and most cars in dealer inventories in Canada are ordered w/o it. I somewhat disagree with people about the navigation system, as I recently rented an Infinity M35X for a week with navi, and my wife and I prefer the Porsche Navteq system which we have used extensively on trips. Sports Chrono is a must option here for resale, although I agree with other comments that it is something that is rarely used and doesn't increase hp or torque.
Can someone point to any concrete evidence that full leather is less durable...this seems to be thrown around alot in this thread. Has anyone had anything at all happen to their full leather enterior that wouldn't have happened otherwise. Any threads, google links, anything. Sounds like sour grapes to me. My wife has an 11 year old Boxter that she uses as a DD, and the enterior still looks perfect...with full leather.

Sport Chrono -- I like this . I prefer the throttle response and even like the look of the wart .
Full Leather -- Not necessary but preferred . I have had cars without it and still had a lot of fun . It adds a nice touch and it really depends on how much you are ready to spend . I happen to like sports adaptive seats which come with full leather .
Nav -absolute waste . Agree with Stardoc . My Honda has a better nav . BMW has a high tech nav and I really don't like it .

For resale - I think it's fairly obvious that you can always get the customer who wants a more stripped down vehicle if you take long enough. However, in general having those options will enhance resale ease - I doubt you'll actually get much in terms of extra resale value, but imo it will make getting a buyer quicker / easier.
Aside from resale potential:
NAV - I gotta have it, but you said you've never been a fan so you seem to have your answer right there. Personally, I liked the 996 NAV and I like my new 997 NAV, but other than Porsche I've only ever had the BMW ones in pre-2002 models to compare against (before i-Drive crap). Maybe the others people refer to being superior are right. For me, I don't know any better so I like the current Porsche one just fine.
Leather - I like the feel and appearance of full leather on the dash, doors, etc. So I specifically looked for a car with it. I usually upgrade cars every 3-4 years so unless it cracks that fast which I doubt, durability wouldn't be an issue. I never heard about this until now so I'm curious whether that is in fact an issue or not.
SC - seems like most people that replied here said it's useless. I respect that opinion, but I'll just offer this one sort of zen like thought - what you FEEL is sometimes more important than what IS.
The SC may not physically give you more HP, torque, etc - nothing physical to hang some quantified metrics around, but the good ol butt-o-meter sure FEELS like it's significantly more "twitchy", "responsive", and just sheer fun to drive. But that's just me. I had something similar in other cars, got used to being able to flick that sport mode on and off, so had to have it. The clock functions I find irrelevent but I like the sport mode throttle remapping.
I'm also a big fan though of if you don't know what you're missing, why go change that if you're happy right now. e.g. why go test drive a TT if right now you feel a 997.1 or .2S is the most power and best handling car you've had so far. Ignorance sometimes can be bliss. So if you don't have a personal love/hate thing for the SC right now, I suppose the smart play would be to just save some money, don't get it, and never know what you're missing.

IMHO, any cars that is MSRP above $90K should have full leather interior. I hate my 2006 E55 has the same plastic dash as the regular E350, comparing to the CLS55/63 they get the full leather treatment
I love my C4S with full leather and deviating stitching, and it gives a very sporty and sophisticated appearance.
