I'm having an issue wherein each time I restart my car the radio defaults to FM despite having been on another setting when the car was last running (satellite or USB, for instance). Is this normal? Is there a setting that lets one choose the default source? Thanks for any help.

 

PCM2.1 allows you to decided what mode you start up with. Would imagine you can do the same on the newer version. My guess is it's set up to start with the radio each time you start the car and as result will always go back to that no matter what you were doing when you turned off the ignition. Look in the manual that comes with the PCM. It details how to do it.

 

I appreciate your response to this scintillating topic I've opened up.
I looked through the 911 manual as well as the PCM book and, though I did not do a gigantically thorough search, I couldn't find anything relating to a start up choice. Another wrinkle to the problem is that it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it goes right back to the source I last had on. Other times it defaults back to FM only I don't think that the PCM is designed to make FM the default setting. Even my 2003 C4S didn't to that.
Maybe I should turn the damn radio off and just enjoy the sound of the engine!!

 

Something is wonky with the PCM software in your car.
