I promised that I searched. 13 pages with a results for "aerokit" and another couple of pages for "aerokit install" and couldn't find anything. I am looking for a DIY for the factory aerokit, mainly the lower lip of the aerokit. I would like to be able to install it myself if possible when I need a replacement.

 

Not exactly a DIY but I believe that the lower lip (plastic) is secured by two screws at the ends (near the wheels). The rest slips in a slot at the lower edge of the bumper with cutouts and fingers along its length keeping it secure. It's a very simple thing to replace as needed.

I found a thread over at teamspeed, which seems to indicate the same thing. Just two screws and it pulls forward, just have to make sure that you are careful as I guess you an chip the paint when doing so. I think an extra lip or two might be in my near future, just to have lying around. Maybe one for daily driving, gets beat up, so who cares and another for shows and the such.

 

The factory aerokit on the C2/C4 is the same as the GT3, as you know.
I've personally installed the lower lip on my car as a replacement (after scraping the heck out of the lip when I first got the car)

It's pretty easy to do. As you noted, you just want to be gentle and careful when pulling the lip off.

 

BTW, the suncoast part I identified above is not painted. It's just black flexible plastic. So when it scrapes, it doesn't scrape to a different color.
The painted lower lip that comes with the factory kit is primered and painted, so it scrapes white, which is much much more obvious.
Since my car is black, the black plastic lip works out well.

 

It's not that easy to get on and off. You would be hard pressed to take it off for any reason but to replace it as worn/damaged.

it took me 2 minutes to swap out my lower lip 3 weeks ago. 2 torx screws, one on each end of the lip and a little wiggle and it pops right off..didn't even need to jack the car up. they make a primed version and a black plastic one. My orig was painted and it shows everything. I chose the black plastic one and it looks much better in my opinion.
