Nice cop

After owning the car for 15 months, I got pulled over today for no front plate and, in Virginia, it's required.
The cop was a nice guy; he gave me a warning.
I asked him if a notice goes out to all the other cops in the area to be on the alert for me and he said that only happens for citations, but not warnings.

In VA if a cop cites you for something, they send a warning out to other cops that you go around with no front plate, and therefore maybe pull you over more/again?

doesnt go out as warning... just if he gets pulled for no plate again.. when they pull record... if he got a citation today it would say "citation no plate" then the cop the second time would mark that when u went to court/fine... etc.

for a warning nothing goes in the computer.... so when u get pulled over again you just act like its the first time and get another warning.. ;-)

dont EVER tell the cop the second time "oh i got a warning for that before" because that means pretty much instant citation... if you act dumb you'll get another warning usually.. ;-)

its just like exhaust/tint/ride height/bad weather warnings... they dont wanna bust ur ***** but want you to know they are watching.

Definitely a good tip to never disclose that you have had a warning before. Always play it dumb and you at least have a shot of getting out of a fix it ticket. I get pulled over I'd say an average of 3 times a year (I don't have violations on the P-car yet -- this is with other cars) for tint/no front plate -- at least half the time they let me go on one, or sometimes both, of the violations because I act like I had no idea and would've NEVER broken the law if I knew what was stipulated.

I feel for you guys in dual plate states. What a drag.......and no radar detectors either. I can't even imagine driving without my V1.......though I know some if not all of you probably have stealth units of some kind right?

Or can they detect those?

I get pulled over for no front plate at least twice a week, LOL, usually I get out of it but sometimes, well you know.

That's a lot of getting pulled over.

I had no front plate on my BMW 330i for about 6 years, and never pulled over for it.

Since I've had the 911 (since Jan 09), I've been pulled over twice, and had warnings both times.

It's something about the 911 that makes cops want to check you out.

When I first got my '09 C2 I was stopped at a routine license check. Both cops went on and on about the car, asked how fast it was and just before I was getting ready to slowly roll away one of the officers said......."burn it out....I wanna see how fast that thing can go!"

I replied with a grin....."Thank you sir, but.......i don't think I'd care to do that."

I left the two of them standing there laughing.

Some cops are just normal, good old boys who enjoy a fast car as much as the next guy.........as long as they aren't holding a radar/laser gun!
