Lots of track experience with R888's....when new for at least 3 hard driven track events they are squirmy. Watch you air pressures too...anything above 39psi HOT they are slippery. 35-38psi hot depending on the car and suspension seems to be the sweet spot.

On my R8 I didn't like the Pzeros. Switched to PS2 and I hated them for about 1 session on the track. But when they got hot WOW! They had excellent grip, better than the Pirellis. I'm very impressed by the PS2s. Then again I don't have that much experience on tracks.

I always ran Bridgestone Potenza's RE50's on my Boxster and liked them. Anyone still using them on their 911's?

I've had lots of different tires on my 997S and, like others, found the PS2s to be very good street tires. When you say that the center tread "deforms" under hard use, do you mean that it's wearing faster than the outsides? If so, it sounds like your pressure is too high.

Never heard anything but positive remarks about these tires, & they will last longer than your P-zero's.
