Another iPod issue?

(Almost) Every time I start the car, PCM says "iPod Ready" and lists the song that is supposed to be playing, but no sound is produced. I have to disconnect the iPod from the cable in the storage bin and reconnect it, at which point it resumes at the song it left off on. Weird

Anybody seen anything similar?

When you look at your iPod, do you note if the iPod itself is paused? Then unplugging and replugging unpauses it?

I'll investigate further. This is a 2009 PCM, supposedly with the latest S/W and I am using an iPod Nano (2nd gen) also with the latest S/W

you can also hit the play button on the iPod and then it starts playing through the PCM. When I start mine, the PCM screen seems to be searching for the iPod. It says it is ready, but does not play. About 50% of the time, it will then completely ignore the ipod, and then you have to reconnect. I found that whilst the PCM is confused, I reach into the center console and fit the play button, and instantly, all is well!
Damn, I hope porsche fixes this!

Yeah, that sounds like what is happening to me. Not a huge deal in the big picture but why can't the car manufacturers get this right? The BMW iPod interface is just as quirky.
