Gunmetal wheels on an Arctic Silver 997?

I've recently picked up an 05 C2S in Arctic Silver and it's got 19 inch Carrera S (lobster fork) wheels. I'm resisting the urge to start modding the bodywork, but one thing I'm considering is powder coating the wheels from Silver to Gunmetal. Porsche offers this as an option on new wheels and calls it Basalt Black Metallic.

Does anyone here have a 997 in Arctic Silver with Gunmetal/Basalt Black Metallic wheels? If you do, please post some photos. I'm just about ready to do it, but it would be good to see what it looks like. I think it would give the car a somewhat meaner look. As it is, the car just looks too stock.

I believe this is more representative of Gunmetal -

Basalt Black is much different.

Probably not the answer you are looking for but as I was looking for new rims I drove to nearby shop and looked at some gunmetal options and they looked pretty ugly to my taste next to arctic silver body.

From what I saw I am getting silver rims only. There are some rims in graphite silver paint you may look at if you want darker rims. Pure black also looks pretty ugly next to very bright car paint. Almost like black rims on a white car. Brr.

I have to agree. Gunmetal with silver might not look quite right since Gunmetal is usually a satin finish. A dark, matte charcoal would look GOOD, though!

These wheels on my car are gunmetal (maybe close to Diamond Black as they are from BBS) and I am kind of disappointed on the color combination.

I just installed a set of charcoal gray HRE P40's on my GT Silver Turbo Cab. The look may not be for everyone, but I absolutely love it.

I had my lobster forks re-finished in what my local shop calls 'Smoked Chrome'. In reality it's gunmetal/anthracite. I think they look great - here you go....

Why don't you get either silver or polished wheels. They look great on silver cars.
I have GTsilver and I'm looking for either BBS LM or HRE C20/C21

Ian, that combination is exactly what I was hoping to see. Your car looks great. Thanks a lot for posting the photos. I'll definitely do the gunmetal wheels now.
