I'm about to sign papers on a brand new 09 C4S launch car. Is there anything I should be looking out for? I've read a few issues as far as the PDK, fuel pump, etc on the earlier cars. Granted the car is brand new and comes with the full warranty, it's still nice to know what to expect with it. Car has 9 miles on it, half of which were me. Sticker $112k, talked them down 12% to around $98k with free clear bra and a few other small extras.

 

Have them apply the new PDK software, the PCM update, and recall campaign on the exhaust clamps. That's all I can think of, and you'll be good to go. It's a great car and good deal. Enjoy.

And, of course, the clear markers would be a nice extra...

Every dealership was given FOUR of these cars and many still have at least one. I would make calls one by one until a dealership bites at the lowest price.

He's shopping at his local dealership and is at 12 percent . He could probably call five other dealerships in his area and pin down a sale at at least one of them . maybe more. He's not that far off from 20 percent .

Travel and shipping would cost about 3 grand and some time . So he's really 5 grand away from a sale .

I would say knock off another 2500 if he simply wants to pin down that car and opt for convenience . Otherwise I'd say walk .

He has abour 5 days until months end to find a car, have a check in his hand and buy a car . After July 31 the next month cycle begins and that might change the dynamics of his negotiations.

 

Was the car "punched' perhaps? Better verify the warranty in-service date from Porsche.

 

A "punched" car is a different status than a new car . It may not have a title but it does have less warranty. My car is not punched . I doubt his car is .

 

I went to 3 dealers in my area yesterday...everyone still had this car and @12% off. They aren't going anywhere..so stand firm on your offer and get a deal that works for you.
