A 911 is a 911 !
Got my C4S on Friday -- My previous Porsche was a 964 C4, year 1990
I had been 2 years without a Porsche car
Well, after getting her, I immediately did a long trip (about 300 miles) and got to know her more deeply
All I can say, is that the Porsche engineers are geniouses and that a 911 is an icon !
I felt my new car is obviously more refined than the 964, but the Porsche and 911 souls are there, immediately to be recognized and felt !
The car handles perfectly, the engine sound is unique, the driving position is optimal, PDK is marvelous and the shift buttons are perfect and convenient (I was also one of the "haters" of such buttons and wondered why no usual paddles... But now that I own a car with this system, I feel that being able to up (push) or downshift (pull) with any of your hands is correct)
I might add a Sharkwerks bypass pipe, but to me, the rest of the car is PERFECT !

It took me several months to finally take a decission... I was cross shopping for 993TT (lots of character, but getting old... 10+ years now !), 996TT (affordable and can be made extremely fast, but not much involving), 2007 GT3 (excellent by any means, but now the new GT3 is coming out and didn't want to take the depreciation hit so hard !), GTR (impressive performance, but no soul, too quiet...)
I think Porsche made a great Product with the 997.2 cars and caught/left behind the competition -- PDK is really impressive !
I am really enjoying my C4S and glad I went for this car instead of an M3 with DCT (excellent car, but not at the same level as a 997.2 C2S or C4S)
