A throttle response and the ability to have this little $900 item become a dealbreaker on resale. More people want the choice of the throttle setting than those who can be content without it.

I've got Sport Chorono on my car, if you are not planning to get an ECU upgrade I think you should get a car with the Chrono. The normal throttle response may be a little slow, that is in opinion of course... I don't like the regular throttle response when I want to drive fast.

Plus I think it looks good on the dashboard

I have a 6speed 997.2 - I'd strongly suggest getting the sport chrono - the re-mapping of the throttle response (coupled with the Porsche sport shifter) makes shifts feel like turning on an off an electric switch - they are that sharp

For those without Sport Chrono it might be an idea to look at the Sprint Booster. Does much the same thing (eliminates throttle lag and also increases throttle response) and seems to be a reasonably easy retro fit.

I was under assumption that Softronic ECU flash does exactly same as it activates sport mode. Plus you get better 93 octane maps.

Never heard of Sprint Booster.
Larry is right about resale - a car without it is like buying a car without leather seats.
Throttle response without the chrono on sport I find pretty sluggish as well. I drive with it on sport about 90% of the time. This compares dramatically to the sport button on an E46 M3, which was ridiculously sensitive and basically was unusable. Huge difference. Amazing how essentially the same mechanism can be engineered to work properly or engineered to be useless.

I like the sport crono on for when I am driving fast. I turn it off for parking and other low speed manuvers. Has anyone tried to parallel park with sport crono on?

I really like the sport chrono and highly recommend it. I use my car as a daily driver and it's like having a caffeine button. It's nice to leave it off when you have no choice but to go slow in traffic or garages etc.
