Mandatory is a wrong word I think. Anyone goes here as his soul wishes.

You got a new car so it will probably worth to check politely with your dealer what degree of mods would be considered acceptable for your car without violating warranty status.

Bypassing all stuff for looks like bumpers and wings etc - my path was to fit in all missing electronics so all buttons would work - navigation, phone, music, etc. then put anti-radar in.
then work on powertrain - ecu softronic flash, exhaust, intake.
then probably, may be, will do something with suspension. that`s the route.

so for you I am not sure if ECU flash is wise thing to do as new cars has tendency to ask for dealer visits from time to time. my car got 40K miles already so probably if nothing major will happen I will not need anything from dealer any time soon. For me ECU flash was a must as I did not have SC option - so it turned on sport mode.

some dealers do not like when customers mess up with cats on exhaust. plus for 997.2 it is still not quite clear topic which exhaust is the best performance wise. for intake - if you do not want X51 airbox then perhaps RSS IPD plenum plus BMC filter panel into stock airbox.

Plus all the rest you can imagine or want on your car.

Sorry, for some reason I though you had 2009 car, that`s why I was referring to 'new'. But you are still on warranty so everything above applies anyway.

I had a similar experience, getting a 'new' '08 at a GREAT price. Mine had 165 miles on it. C4S, love the wide look. Has been my first porsche and have loved every minute of it so far. Not my daily driver but I still drive it ever day, after I get home
