I had this creak that occurred every time I moved left to right or visa versa. Thought it may have been the seat, rails, b-pillar, or something loose inside the door. Brought it by the dealership, took a tech out for a 15 second drive, and he knew exactly what it was - the door was loose. It wasn't loose at the hinge, but instead at the lock. You can apparently adjust how tightly against the body the door closes, and if it doesn't close tightly enough, it'll give a little.

Patrija, I had a similar rattle from my roof about a year ago. Dealer took care of it by adding a bit of felt tape between the middle bow support and a roof rib. I was told it was a somewhat common (but easily fixed) problem in convertibles. I haven't had the same rattle since.

I've learned to not mess around with rattles unless they are visible repairable... Most times, when a dealer dissassembles stuff to fix a rattle, even if the rattle is found, odds are, new rattles might come... Just drive and enjoy, it is a question of focus. On a cab, there will allways be more rattles than a coupe

Yeah, I have that one too and a "squeak" there as well. i found that the passenger seatbelt receiver can rub up against the seat itself and produce a full variety of noises. Try moving the passenger seat all the way forward and see if it changes the sound. Then I put some stickey felt on the outer surface of the seat bolster where it touches the receiver.
I also threw out the little lighter thingy in the ashtray (to save some weight too! LOL). Then pull out ashtray and reinstall. Most of the noises went away after that. These are very "non-invasive' fixes so you don't have to worry about making new rattles.

Eric, you might be in for a bad time! Porsches rattle. There it is. Some are so tight that they never rattle. I have rarely (never) seen them. I guess they are "hand built" just enough to have significant variances from car to car. Strangely the 996 rattles less, but has a cheaper looking interior. If it is any consolation, the stereo is awesome! (only kidding there). But seriously, the rattles are never that bad and really don't detract from the fact that the car will be very rewarding each time you drive it. Certainly more so than the M cars. You will be very happy with the 997.2

Thanks for the input. I feel my noise is more from the center console, either ashtray or the hand brake button part. Im pretty sure its not the seatbelt because the rattle will occur even when Im riding with a passenger. Its not really a sqeaky noise, sounds more like loose coins.

The rattles are addressed!

Rear Seat - Dealer tighted the rear seat back. Fixed!

Roof Rattle - The bottom part of one of the bows had come loose and Dealer applied adhesive. Fixed!

Dash Rattle - Dealer removed and applied some felt to the Chrono Pod. Fixed!

Steering Wheel Rattle - Gone .. not fixed, just gone

My passenger side view exterior mirror whistles at higher speeds when the windows are down.

The area between the two arms that hold the mirror to the door whistles. But not the driver's side mirror...

I have no idea what to do. Anyone else?
