wheels

If looking at pre-owned wheels, what other porsches wheels can you use for a C2 narrow body.... cayman? boxter? can we put wheels from turbos, or c4,c4s on out cars? or just c2 and c2s wheels?

if lowering the car with h&r springs...can you fit a 20" wheel? how wide front and rear? and how bout tires?

The C4/C4S is a wide body like the Turbo and GT2 and GT3RS. The fronts from these cars will fit and are the same as a C2/C2S and GT3. The rears will stick out a small amount.

Boxster and Cayman wheels are a different offset than Carrera wheels plus the rears are 10".

There are pictures of Carrera's with 20's, but if you care about the sporting nature and ultimate handling of your Porsche stay away from 20's.

I love bigger wheels, I always try to put max size, dont care much about how much ride or handling ill lose, so basically when buying a used wheel its best to buy wheels from other c2/c2s , and thats where it ends....

How wide can you fit on the rears of a c2 narrow body? a member here told me I can fit 20x12s in the rear, can anybody confirm this? Im 100% lowering my car with h&r springs will that matter ?

wheels are 19x12 and tires are 305's. remember, the GT3 is an NB and comes with 12 inch wide wheels stock.

there are severl board members with the 325-25-20 12" combos on NB's

You can't put 12s from a C4s on your NB... they won't fit.

You'll be safe if you put STOCK wheels (i.e., 11" wide with 51MM offset) from a C4, C4S, Turbo on your car, with 295s... but if you go aftermarket, you need to stick with NB wheels with the proper offset for your car.

You can go to this site to plug and play with offset, wheel widths to see how much further your wheels will stick out as compared to stock, with any given aftermarket wheel

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

Your current specs are 11" wide by 67mm offset on the rears. With a 295 tire, you will be ok if the new tires stick out 15-16mm from stock. With wider tires, the amount the tires stick out from stock will need to be less.

We've run 20x12's on the rear of our NB 997 and had no issues. They were HRE's made for the WB.

We've got a set of our RS1 Forged wheels in stock in 20 inch. I can make you a smokin' deal if you're interested.

I am running a set of 20" Vorsteiner wheels, with no issues. It is all about the right offset, right tire size and even with my own H&R springs, no rubbing or driving issues. Even though I went up from a 19 to a 20, the car still rides very much the same as it did before as the tire size was carefully selected for the most similar ride comfort.

Do not ruin your car. Get 19" 11.5" wide rear rims as all normal folks do.

That is a good fitment but if you put on GT3RS 12x19's they would stick out past the fender. You can get away with 11x19 wheels from a C4S or Turbo but they do stick out a tiny bit.

Understand, just trying to help you out. With ride and handling I am not talking about comfort I am talking about ultimate performance and grip...to me that is what a sports car like a Porsche is all about.

If looks is all you are after go for it and do the 20's and lower it. Search around these forums as guys on here have done this and will help you out. Be different and stick some 22's under the car! I just saw a Mercedes GLK with 26'sno that is not a typo actual 26's and it was slamed too.

in the pics above, i am also using 5mm spacers in the rear to bring the wheel out more so you can see that the NB can handle the 12 with ease provided the offset is correct.

as mentioned above, most c4 12" fitments will not fit an NB because they make those wheels agressive for the widebody which means they will stick out on an NB.

so basically if you want to run a 12, you are limited to a narrow rage of offsets for the rear, namely between 63-68mm (+/- 2mm).

this means you need something custom or GT3 fitments.

i cant remember his name but a forum member with the GT3 aero kit on a dark grey C2S posted pics of his 20x12 325 combo a while back. maybe he sees this and posts pics
