Going to dealer need help on price
If I recall correctly you wrote someone where your budget is moving up and up.
Why not get a nice 05/06 C2 or C2S as a first porsche. If you live in NYC you will get 90% of the driving pleasure of a 08 or 09 at about 40% of the cost.

So it was a long day and in the end I have no car.
The 08 CS (Macadamia Brown) I offered 72k with CPO. They called back after offering 75k\CPO and asked me to come in again to talk but they are a 40min drive and I assume "come in" means they can't do 72k and I could not make it there before they closed.
I then went to another P dealer that is 10miles away and looked at an 09 Midnight Blue S same options as the 08 I was looking at but with a $99735 window sticker. Dealer offered it for $82,000 BUT without the 1.9 APR. He said dealers cannot do both 18-20% off + the APR.
While mac brown is my first choice and mid blue is my 2nd, I like the 09 a lot and the extra $$ may be worth it. Not sure. I have not ruled either out

It's true that a dealership can't offer both the low finance and highpercent discount but whatever you lose on the finance would already be lost if you bought the 08 .
I can't see the brown 08 Vs the midnight 09. I just can't . That brown car sat on the lot for over a year and the people who passed it by saying "no thanks" pose that same obstacle when someday you go to sell it . It may be yoir first choice in color but is it worth that much? There isn't any car color that I could love enough to risk a resale nighmare and macadamia is about as close as it can get .
I am pounding the pavement on that midnight car .
Guys thanks. I found out that trading in a macadamia car was an automatic 4-5k penalty in trade in value. Not that I am looking to trade in anytime soon but it helps to factor that number into the depreciation.
The midnight blue is growing on me.

Forget about depreciation based on that color. I personally like it. I also liked Phoenix Yellow on my BMW M Coupe. They made very few cars in that color and the market was commanding 10K premiums for it by the time I had to sell it. Just get what you want and stop trying to predict future resale values. You will lose.
Incentive
So, the $10,000 is simply dealer holdback? They could sell me a unit at invoice, and the factory would give them the holdback? I bought 3 BMW's from the same family of dealerships here in Baton Rouge last year, and I'm looking for them to give me an insane deal! I may not buy unless they give me 20% off MSRP!?
I'm not an expert on these things (really), but better resale? Yes, it will sell at a higher price, but the OP will take a bigger loss than an earlier/pre-owned car. No?
