Going to dealer need help on price

I am going in tomorrow to take a look at 2008 997 S Coupe. It is a left over, maybe due to color popularity (macadamia brown).

I was thinking with the end of the month and the 1.9 APR promo, the car being 2 years old as the 2010's come in now might be the time to pull the trigger. I love the color combo and only regreat would be no full leather.

My question is around price. In another thread I read about this same 08 color combo going for 65k-60k and for me that would work within my budget. However when I did a search on other 2008 997 S they were listed in the mid to high seventies off ebay etc and many of those already had miles on it, used, unlike this one which has 3 miles on it (new).

It is realistic to get this car in the low-mid 60k's?

Are you sure it is an S. If the $81.9K is the list price, it must be a non-S. If that is the case you should be able to get 20 to 25% off the list for a leftover 2008 ( less than 100 miles) which would bring you to about $65K. If the car is an S than I would say the list should be about $95K and the $81.9K is the offer price? In this case you should be able to get the car for about $75K. All of this can vary depending on the regional market, of course.

I agree. Based on my sticker, a 2008 Carrera S base model is $83,800. Then you add those options which will easily bump it up to the $100K range. $81900 sounds more like a non-S model. Fahrer's figures are in the ball park.

You should be able to easily get 20+% off MSRP. I recommend arming yourself with comparable sales prices from say, Los Angeles, where they move lots of inventory. Good luck and have fun.

You can not get an 08 S for mid 60's unless its high mileage and probable damaged.

that is there asking price and with luck you cna get it for mid 70's...

good luck

Thanks looks like around $75k then...hmmm maybe I should find an 09 instead then...? I have had a serious case of price creep. I started off on a used 06 C2S with a budget in the 50k's then said maybe I can find something newer in a color scheme I want in the 60k's and now I am in the 70ks

I see it's at South Shore, they have eight 2008's- you'd think they would cut their loses and make a deal.

Not sure how much the 1.9 financing is worth to you or if you could buy cash (more incentives from PCNA with cash).

End of month and 2010's due, with current PCNA promotions, now is certainly a good time. Start at high 60's and test it out.

Yes at South Shore. I could do cash or 3rd party finance if it meant more savings off the car. Do you know what the cash back is (ex. 1.9% or $2500). I assume the cash back is a dealer incentive.

Must be a dealer incentive. When I bought mine cash back was not an option. I could've paid cash but 1.9% was soooo cheap especially for 60 months that it made sense to go that route. I financed the whole frick'n thing!

It's pretty easy to make more than 1.9% on the cash so this was a no brainer for me. You'll have to run your own scenario to see what works best for you.

Not sure what the deal is on '08 but '09 is $10,000 from PCNA for 2wd C2 or C2S for cash sales. The dealers don't want to give the customer all of this but 80-90% should be yours.

I assume 3rd party finance would be assumed a cash sale since it is all cash to them. good info thanks! The 1.9% says it expires Aug 31st or Monday??

$10k seems like a lot, so in other words for an 09 you can get 20% off MSRP+ $10k? So a 100k Car = $80k-$10k=$70k ...I must be reading this wrong
