think the type III wing is a lot cleaner and compliments the lines better. glad to hear TA is taking of the problem under warranty... a type III is what i plan to put on my 997.2s too! this professionalism from TA gives me even more confidence in their product... good luck!

So here is an update. I realize this is almost two months later, but Techart has gone above and beyond to make this right. The decklid portion of the rear spoiler was baked to ensure the heat issue did not return, they factory painted the spoiler and had it shipped directly from Germany, rather then just an off the shelf version.

If this does not solve the issue, I will contact them back to have the Type IV spoiler ordered and shipped. I really hope that this issue does not return, as I do like the Type III spoiler and the design.

A huge thanks to Ubi at CEC and Alex at Techart. Also, I wish Ubi the best of luck as he currently recovers from some ongoing health issues.

Let me please restate this as well, Techart has been absolutely phenomenal through this process. Very accommodating, empathetic and understanding. I have seen a lot of companies go above and beyond and they have taken it to a new level. This could be simply an issue with my car that is non-detected or perhaps a design flaw with a few units.

They also said they would oven bake the next replacement to ensure it withstood the heat correctly. I am thinking however of going with the Type IV as I have now had two of them do the same thing.

Oven baking will provide even heat distribution - it is likely your problem is that heat is being applied unevenly through the vents leading to unven expansion...

It is interesting to see this happen. I was just wondering if this is a residual issue of disabling the stock wing motor. Beside raising at speed, the wing also raises when the car is parked under high heat conditions to provide extra ventiliation. I'm not sure how much ventilation the aerokit or GT3 has, but maybe those decks have more than the TechArt. Or, actually, doesn't the Techart wing just use the stock decklid with a disabled motor? This combination could cause some extra heat - could potentially even be damaging to the engine?? I suppose this would never be a factor in Germany, but Florida is a completely different story.

The Type III spoiler requires you to completely remove the OEM decklid and this just literally bolts to the car. There is a quite a bit of ventilation and the fact that other Techart owners are not seeing this issue, makes me question, why this has continued to happen. I guess I will see what happens with the new spoiler.

So, is stock decklid fan getting re-mounted into this wing decklid or is it missing now?

Sorry. I mis spoke. The oem decklid is still in place just the oem spoiler is removed. The fan is still there and the new spoiler bolts into the oem decklid. Sorry for the way I originally explained it.
