How to extract out primary light switch?

Hi, I want to do some work I planned on. Last weekend I tried and failed on this step - is there any way to get out assembly of primary head beams/fog light switch without messing with (having to take off) entire front panel?

All I want essentially is to get access to its contacts to re-wire some stuff but I did not find in workshop manual how I can actually get down to it. And I definitely not quite ready to disassemble entire front panel, well, I may be able to take it off but most likely will not be able to put it back properly.

Any practical recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
