C4S in the snow

Has anyone in the north east outfitted their C4 with snow tires and driven it in the winter daily? There are great deals on 2-3 year old cars. I have a DD cross over coming off lease in the fall and was thinking about a used C4S. Does anyone have experience with this kind of application?

Not a C4S but a C2S and a CaymanS. Both wear Michelin Pilot Alpin tires on winter wheels for about 6 months and do just fine unless the snow is deep enough to high-center (there is that flat bottom on these cars). Probably 2 days out of the year I can't drive the C2S because of deep snow.

The other consideration is that the car sits pretty low, so it tends to get showered with slush (including everything that is in it) when the car in the next lane moves into the slush or whatever. Hard to avoid but good to be ready for it since you can't see anything until the windshield has been washed/wiped! This would be true of any low car, not just the p-cars of course.

Jim, I don't even have these on my Touareg! My C2S has PS2's in the winter, and if it is below 7 degrees C or below, it stays in the heated garage.

Its the best in the snow -- with snow tires of course. I have had a C4 C4s and now my new TT -- and I use them in all weather. Its a great car in the northeast snow!

btw - if you turn off the PSM, donuts are a lot of fun too!!
