Install NAVI into PCM 3.0?
Install NAVI into PCM 3.0?
Hi all,
Just got a 997.2 PDK demo at 65k w/ 1800 miles, msrp was 85k, i hope that's a good deal!
Anyways the car came without navigation, was wondering if there are alternative methods into installing navigation into the new PCM3
Thanks in advance

it is my understanding you will have to wait a bit before they come out with the module. i would strongly recommend you keep your eyes on Suncoast as they are usually the 1st to get these OEM add ons
Well, I'm sorta in the same boat/. Asking at the dealership, they told me that the HD (probably a laptop type HD) carries all the maps and software for navi (dahhh) and they did not know if it was possible to add it on later. The hardware missing SEEMS to be the HD and the software the navi and maps.
Eventually Becker might do a core exchange similar to what they do with the 2.1 version. It wont be cheap at all, but definetely better then buying a whole new one.
Another option is some computer savvy P-car fan discover a way to add a laptop HD with the navi data, it would be sweet. Even better, a flash memory device that comunicates with the MOST system, similar to the iPod solutions that exist in the market. Now, make no mistake, it's all encrypted, adding bits and pieces are not for the faint at heart...
We'll see... Anyone reading this knows different, please share...
