Clear bra installer - N of NYC or Sthrn CT

Looking for a good clear bra installer north of Manhattan or in Southern CT. My local shop doesn't know anyone that does a good job and has recently seen only bad jobs that have pealed. If anyone has a good referral that would be great. I'm even thinking of just doing the hood. Is this a possible DIY? Can't be that hard. The bumper, another story, but maybe the hood?
Thanks,

Thanks,
You can check Inskip in Providence RI, I think my car got it done there.

It is not a DIY job. You got to know what are you doing and have right skills. Plus I believe you have only one take to get it done or it will be very messy.

Also difficult to believe that in entire NYC nobody cannot get it done right. Call Ferrari or Lambo dealers - check with them. Someone should be out there servicing those exotics.

also, check with Phil at detailers domain. But, I think he is in north Jersey. Definately not a DYI!

It's not that far to Detailing Dynamics (Sponsor) on Long Island, Eddie and Matt do a great job.

They did my C4S just a couple weeks ago, great job.

Thanks, good to know. I saw them on the 3M website. Not too far from me. Could you PM me how much you paid? There were comments on a thread that the backlog for an appointment was a couple of months! I think that was pre-recession though.

In reading the Scotchguard info, seems like they don't even sell the materials to non installers. I've done headlights and foglights before, it was challenging, but not impossible. Mine turned out fine, but I guess I don't want to mess with my hood.

You for sure don't want to mess with your hood and bumper too
I will be glad to go over the areas and pricing with you. Please email me at eddie@detailingdynamics.com or give me a call at 516-747-4114.

Our waiting period for an appointment right now is 2.5 to 3 weeks.

We are pretty much the only advanced installation facility in the NY metro area. All pieces are custom designed by us. No pre-cut pieces is the best way to apply the paint protection film since it allows the installer to wrap around the edges of the panels or extend the covered area.

Detailing Dynamics is definately the way to go. They do fabulous work and are a pleasure to deal with. Very, very meticulous. I drove my turbo from Upstate NY so that they could clear bra the front end, wheel arches and sills. It looked fantastic.

My Nov. build 2010 GT3 will be going there in the spring. Matt and Eddie are great.

Like the above post reads, there are very minimal edges/seams as everything possible is tucked. Just like painting, preparation and application are everything.

Thanks,

Hey RyeM3, you are right in my backyard, we need to hook for a cruise! Ever take a run north of me off Route 100 into Yorktown, etc around the resevior, great run! My friend just had this 3M protection film done in Danbury on his 08' C2S, the full package will cost bet $650 and $7. My friends name is Ed McGraw and here is the contact. I think I might do it as well.

Just have the pros at Detailing Dynamics take care of it. They're one of the best in the business.

THanks very much for the lead. Might be heading up to Gundo's on 10/11 in CT, but welcome the thoughts of a drive.
I was hooked up to another installer in the area by a 6 speeder. Guy came right to my garage and did a full install using Venture Shield for a FRACTION of what I've been quoted by others. Looks perfect. Flawless fit. I had the feeling the margin in this stuff was huge. In fact, the installer was the same guy that did the installs for the local Porsche dealer for more than 3X the price.
Drop me a PM when you have time.

Hi, I know this is over a year old but could you provide me with the installers details?

Many thanks!

In CT, Fairfield County Motorsports in Fairfield had a specialist come in and they did an excellent job. Even did lip of wheel wells, mirrors. I think it was $650 for all. Well worth it. 203-256-9291 ask for Don.
