Did you drive your Porsche today?

I saw a similar thread in another forum and thought it might be fun here. Recount a good drive, experience, feeling, memory, whatever if you drove your car today.
Ironically, I start the thread by saying I didn't drive my car today. Took the train. Oh, I missed that leather smell when I get in and the burble of that exhaust at the cold start.
Hope to add some quips from a good commute. Oh yeah, diced it up with an M5 on the commute last night. A bit too much for me as he decided to cut people off to make himself think he was faster. At the wheel of the Porsche, you know you're better and seldom need to prove it .

So I am not going to describe a particular drive, but I will describe a distinct feeling, its the same one that I get everytime I turn the key in my 997 or the my previous P's. Its very very simple. It doesn't matter what sort of sucky day that you have had at work, or what good or bad things are being thrown your way. You get in, you sit there, you turn the key and suddenly you are in a different place, you either escape completely or you get quality thinking time - either way you I have a smile on your face and I can work things through. Maybe its just me.....

No, drove MB, as usual. That's what you get when you don't have a back seat (I have a Cayman S) and need one for the baby. Hence I'll be looking for the C2S soon

Yessir, I drove my heavily modified 997S today, as I do every day. Until I buy a new Wrangler, take my wife's 550, or fix the Ducati, this is it.

While at a stoplight, I installed a new shift **** and boot. Removed the Carrera S **** and put on a new 997TT ****, which feels very different in the hand. So all day, I was appreciating that difference. It's not better, just new, and different.

Gets me wanting some more interior upgrades.

Oh, and I finally paid for the Misha GT2M spoiler. Haven't even received a confirmation email, so we'll see. Going to pair it with a Techart front lip.

No, I still have to spend some time removing the track pads and Hoosiers. I worked the car hard at the trackon Sunday and Monday.

LOL, good one, Ed.
Shoot, I've done all I can to add HP shy of the SC, so I've moved on to interior and exterior mods. Recognizing that my next Porsche will be in addition to this one (as selling this one would be a dumb move by now), I don't at all mind buying more crap for this one!

Yep, grabbed coffee with an old friend and took her for a ride (after finishing the coffees - no food or drink in the car) with the new exhaust system burbling away. A high-revving top-down blast up 280 had us both smiling. Also took a long ride in the Prius. Made me appreciate the P-car even more.
BTW, also received my copy of Durametric software (w/cable). It's pretty good. But then downloaded their beta copy of V6 and it is amazingly great. For any of you gearheads it's a must-have. Checked and reset a bunch of minor faults, looked in to the detail of just about every semi-electronic component in the car, test-ran a bunch of fans and accessories for sport, and just got the DME (?) report that I should have gotten before I purchased the car. What a relief.

Yes I did and I notice lately the novelty of PDK Auto is starting to wear off and I find myself falling back into manual shifting most times. Like my SMG days are coming back to roost or maybe just a phase I'm starting into.

Or could be that now it is over the break-in period where auto would keep me from doing anything "bad".

October is maybe the best month in Atlanta - moderate to cool temperatures, not much rain, and beautiful clear skies. So in addition to M-Sport, I'm rolling down the windows and sliding back the top to soak in this great weather. Deluxe.

I drive it everyday, even the days I take one of the other cars, I'll find one last late night errand to run and jump in the 997. It feels better than ever with the new motor, I'm loving the car more and more. Just bought an OEM GT3 rear wing to compliment the GT3 front. With all the mods I've done, there's still many left. With each new mod the car gets more addictive!

Yes, I drive my car every day unless I'm out of town. And I never tire of it. The smells, the sounds, the intimacy, the comfort, the subtle vibrations, and the overall experience all just keep satisfying me day in and day out.
