PASM Question
PASM Question
My dad is ordering a C4S for January delivery, and we've figured out all the specs except for the PASM Sports Suspension. I've been getting mixed information from the dealers whether PASM is included regardless, and PASM Sports Suspension is an upgrade or if you have to order the sports suspension to have PASM at all.
Can someone clarify this for me?
For those with experience with this, how is the ride quality?
Thanks in advance,
Ben

The current generation of PASM on the Carrera S/4S is just right. Normal setting for average/rough road surfaces and Sport setting for excellent/billiard-like road surfaces.
If you do not order PASM Sport I would still recommend ordering the LSD part (it costs the same but it's worth it).

So go with the standard PASM.
What is the LSD part? I kinda assumed that all Porsche's would have a LSD.
When I was at the dealer, they had some $20k sports upgrade that I did not see when building one on Porsche's website. Is the lsd part of that?
FYI, car will have PDK and Sport Chrono.

I have the sport suspension on my 09 C2S. Not too bad on regular roads (Its actually better than my old Cayman S with regular suspension and 18" wheels) but it is a bit low. Have to go long way round in my neighborhood to avoid crunching over speed bumps.

I haven't seen any refence to the LSD option when builging the car at www.porsche.com. Any ideas on how to order the lsd? Is the ratio changed, or just adds lsd?

Will ask tomorrow, but I think it may be included in the C4S, as it is not listed as an option nor does it mention it in the PASM Sport Suspension; whereas it does for the non-4 models.
Thanks again for your help.

Honestly, you can't decide on options as important as the suspension based on advice from a forum. I found the suspension on my 2007 GT3 too harsh for the street, yet find my 2009 C2S with Sport PASM to be just fine. Ride height on the SPASM is right between where it was on a normal C2S with PASM and the GT3 - so blend of both worlds. A little firmer than normal PASM, but not as stiff as a GT3.
Only you can decide which is better and the beauty of SPASM is you get LSD for "free".
