Winterize
Anyone willing to forgo the Porsche logo on the charger-- it's here at almost half the price. CTEK Multi US 3300 and Cigarette Adapter http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/c...ttery_Chargers
Great thread, I was thinking of the same myself. Not too long ago there were a couple of threads about some "pads" you could buy to park on to avoid flat spots on your tires, can anyone link me, I have done a couple of searches and come up with blanks.

Tempting if I had a 4S with winter tire/wheel pkg. I see a few 4S's around my area driving through the winter. I don't think I could handle hearing the road salt hitting the car. Not to mention the low ground clearance. I know some people drive on clear days, but technically speaking summers are not designed for freezing temps.
Looking at a 2010 Audi S4 to replace my BMW should get me through the winter just fine.

This will be my first winter storing my 997 (I know I CAN drive it in the rainy season in Vancouver NorthVan997C2S- but I have another car for a DD) but when I had my Boxster I inflated the tires to 50 psi and parked on 2 layers of carpet squares or underlay to minimize flatspotting. It worked very well, and I'm planning on doing the same with my 997.
Too bad the weather in Calgary during the winter doesn't allow for the DD of your Porsche, I hope to drive mine all winter!

Thanks! ZR Auto here in town is the Cdn Distributor. I make take her for a rip now and then as we do get some mild days in the winter but for the most part she will be parked. Just bought a RR-Sport SC for a winter beater...lol....and am having fun driving it around....but I do miss my pcar!

Ok...wow they are $400 Cdn....I know PS2's are expensive and worth protecting them but that is a bit expensive. Anyone have any ideas on some "pads" that are more reasonably priced vs the tire cradle or a DIY. I read about guys using dense carpet underlay and then strips of carpet 4-5 layers....might be an idea.....
No even though I am going to miss the hell out of driving it.

From what I understand, these cars are intended to be driven year round in all conditions - it's one of the things that sets them apart from other supercars. Yes, if it is actively snowing or recently stopped, you would probably be well advised to select a different car. However, if the streets are plowed and clear, I don't see an issue.
