Tempting if I had a 4S with winter tire/wheel pkg. I see a few 4S's around my area driving through the winter. I don't think I could handle hearing the road salt hitting the car. Not to mention the low ground clearance. I know some people drive on clear days, but technically speaking summers are not designed for freezing temps.

Looking at a 2010 Audi S4 to replace my BMW should get me through the winter just fine.

I'm on my 3rd winter in Toronto w/my C4S and I drove my previous C2S before that in winter as well,,,,no regrets, it's an awesome car summer and winter and have yet to get stuck somewhere (that said i just put my winters on today)

I just picked up my CTEK Multi US 3300.......it didnt come with the Cigarette Adapter...

I went to CTEK's website and said that it needed to be hotwired to the battery and not a fuse box......can anyone clarify?

Go to the link I posted, cigarette adapter is a $9.99 additional option. There is a plug on the output which changes depending on the connection type, clips, connectors or cigarette adapter. This has been working perfectly for me.

this is the CTEK link, http://www.ctek.com/EN-US/Accessories.aspx

Not sure what you saw on their site that has you concerned? Call them tomorrow --they were very helpful on my one call earlier this year.

Ya I will call them tomorrow.
Their website sucks....and the pics and PN's are very misleading.
If you click on the link above it takes you to PN 56-263 which looks like the correct connector....then you click to buy online and you go here....http://www.shopatron.com/products/pr...23204.0.0.0.0? which is the only one with a cig lighter. Then click more details and gives you this ....which concerned me.

The CTEK Cigarette Adapter allows you to charge your battery through a vehicles cigarette port or most accesory ports. The port must be directly hot wired to the battery as opposed to through a fuse box. Makes charging simple and easy without messing with the battery. Can be used with the old style charger with clear plastic connector.

For clarification , does this CTEK product simply plug into a 997 cig lighter to charge the battery without hot wiring anything (simply plug and play), correct?

Cigarette adapter plugs into directly into the car. Use the 12 volt outlet in the passenger footwell. Then you plug the charger into the wall as per the instructions that come with the unit. Then you toggle the "Mode" button on the charger to the picture of the car and that's it. Mine works great at keeping the battery up to full charge when the car sits idle and using the cigar lighter adapter makes it easy to plug in and unplug when you're ready to go.
