Can I wait for the SC'ed 997S ? JK With the bigger tires, bigger brakes, bigger engine, active suspension, (& probably add Sports chrono package), etc. I would probably take the 997S. But you are right the SC package from EVO is simply stunning.

I think it is fantastic also - only one fairly big drawback - complete loss of warranty on a vehicle otherwise covered for 4 years...

I am curious why the torque is only 360 when hp is all the way to 470. AMG supercharged engines usually have higher torque than hp.

Fanman is trying to sat that EVOMS will be rolling out a killer SC on the S as well. Which I would assume at this point (from results with the non-S) that we'll be seeing 500+HP.

The stock 997 engine starts off with 325 hp & 276 lb.-ft. of torque, so the engine is already - 50 points down on torque. This is not a an AMG V8 (376 lb. ft. of torque), this is closer to an 32 AMG engine (V6 w/SC) that delivered 332 lb.-ft. of torque. The SC will give you about a +100whp, and about +60 lb. ft. of wheel torque. For a Centrifugal SC that is very good. The AMG uses a different type of SC that provides more torque at the expense of sizing (usually sits on top of the engine) & hp. Difference of design from a Centifugal unit vs. roots or screw type SC. The AMG 3.2L SC'ed engines had 349 hp, & 332 lb. ft. of torque (while the 911 with a similar engine size has 420-470 hp, but only slightly more torque)

Why not an '02 Turbo, EVO'd to the max? The car's one year from out of warranty already, and plenty of bulletproof history.
