Happy Motoring!
Thanks! Austin and the Hill Country in the new car is on the agenda for next month!

I understand that some folks like top down driving but it does not come without a cost .
In my experience, it's a much smaller difference than you are suggesting. I've owned both a 997 S Coupe and a 997 S Cab, and for practical purposes the performance differences between them are really negligible. The only question to ask is whether top-down driving appeals and whether to you that's worth the extra cost. The 997 was the first 911 designed as a Cab at the outset, and as such there are fewer compromises than with prior generations. In my judgment, you'd have to be a very good driver indeed to truly bring out the performance advantages of the Coupe. They are there, but for most of us the differences are largely academic. The real question is whether, for any given budget, you go for a Cab or invest the difference in a better-specced Coupe.
