, 60K is definitely way too much.
At least with my car I know if anything could happen to it - it would already happen. Rest is just maintenance. I would be happier of course to have may be twice less miles on it than I do but it does not really matter that much. Plus I did put 5K miles on it myself already since I got it in June.
OP, why tiptronic?

My guess is that the OP has a limited budget. Finding a high mileage car with tiptronic should make the price here very low-I would guess as low as upper 30's. Also being a tip there is less chance of over rev imo. I think maintenance history and condition of car are extremely important. I've been totally happy with how my car has held up and am confident that 60K properly maintained miles is nothing for these cars.
zero miles = "nothing"
60K miles = a lot of use and wear, someone elses memories and maybe even a pair of panties lost under the passenger seat.
Using your numbers --If 38K gets him a a 60K mi car why not spend 45K and get 40K less of "properly maintained" miles ?
I understand it won't have over revs but it also won't have anyone wanting to buy it --especially after he sinks more money and more miles into it and realizes that he bought a car on a dream .
Wait a minute .

I spent considerable time with mechanic during PPI to investigate if there is ANY sign of salt related damage to any gaskets, suspension parts, etc, and only after he confirmed that car is very clean and seller`s claim about not driving it during winter is a confirmed true - I committed to it. 60K miles on 3 year old car means for sure it was driven during all seasons as a daily driver - so you get potholes, salt, washing off dirt with paint damage, damage to all silicon/rubber parts where salt gets to it, etc, etc.
Looking at cars.com I do see plenty of CPO cars with lower milage. I do not think it is an imperative to buy a car with lower than 5K or 10K total miles, but 60K is a lot and if committed to it one should understand all possible complications - new clutch, new shocks, new rotors, possibly all suspension rubber parts are beaten to death already, it is in reality may be much more than regular 60K service would do as owner who sells this car most likely simply drove it non-stop and now wants to get rid of it instead of servicing it.
Hi Everyone
I appreciate everyone's opinions. Everything said here was very logical. I passed on the car.
I will be looking for a 6 speed with reasonable mileage. 8,000 miles per year seems like a good threshold.
I hope in the not so distant future to be able to "drive" into a discussion here and provide help to someone else like me who needed some advice.
This will be my 3rd Porsche and its true once you experienced owning a Porsche, nothing else will do..
Thanks Everyone.

if it helps you as an indication, I just paid low 50s for a 06 Cab S with full leather, tiptronic, bixenon, bose and 26,000 miles - about $4000 below KBB.
you should get a good condition with some warranty left 06 Coupe S for around $48-$50k (I actually just drove a $48k burgundy red/tan for sale in Las Vegas)
Good luck
