October Sales - Back Down To Earth

Looks like October sales for the 997 have come back down to numbers similar to last year compared to what happened back in September (which saw a huge increase for the month year-over-year). Interesting that all models of the C4 saw an increase where almost every model of the C2 saw a drop.

Panamera launch looks to be solid.

Here's both October and a look back to September.

Looks like they had a fire sale on boxster/caymans. Those panamera numbers are shocking!

Thanks for the information. It holds meaning to me in that the Carrera S that I bought on October, 28 (coincidentally my birthday) must be one of those listed in the post. I’m a happy man, new to the forum and looking forward to a long relationship with this car!

tejoe and PeterA, glad you like the information. I always find the monthly sales numbers interesting and like looking at what the different models are doing in terms of sales (for example, like I mentioned on the sales numbers of all the different C4 models versus the C2 in October. I'm suprised that the C4 models would do better. Is it possible that people actually are thinking to buy C4's with the upcoming winter weather?).

I think the C4 increace might be a result of upcoming winter as well as less inventory selection of C2. I also think the Porsche "Moment" was a success and on 09 cars it was extended .. so sales held strong . The Panamera numbers are amazing . The car was launched in the 19 ? So it's not evenb a full month .

Thanks JoeShark! I'm also one little tick in those October numbers in the C2S Cabriolet category. I know my dealer has done really well with the Panamera launch. It's an amazing car but not one I'd look back at in admiration as I was walking away...

I'm assuming most of these Panameras were pre-sold and took delivery in Oct. It will be interesting to see how the numbers hold up for November. I know all the local dealers here have 8-10 Panameras in stock.

A lot of Gt3's were pre sold too but they are sitting on dealership lots . Perhaps the late arrival of dynamic engine mounts or lift features may have had a few back out but 100 Turbo Panameras is a lot of $$$ for 12 days of October .. even if they were pre ordered . It sounds like no one backed out.

another point of interest, someone noted on another board that the inventory of remaining 09's is extremely low including turbo's. So, another kudo to the Porsche Moment!
