Mystery button and question on sport chrono?

Hi guys,

Two questions on a '06 C2S I am interested in getting.

1. This car doesn't have Sport Chrono, but there is a third button from the left which I typically don't see on cars without the SC option. Can anyone tell me what that is? <Picture attached>

2. Without Sport Chrono, how does one control the PASM that comes standard on the S?

Thanks!

Definitively the sport exhausts switch on/off.
I think it costs about 2400$.
When I saw it the first time at my boss's 911 I asked him for what this sunglass button is good for

Now its my turn to ask that question?

Just incase you are serious, Porsche makes their own sport exhaust complete with valves to control sound. It can be quiet when you want it to or loud. Its been an option and in the Tequipment line since the 996 and they even make one for the 997.2 now. However, in my opinion, they are not worth the money since there is no HP increase, they are heavy, and the sound is not that great unless you get headers and cats as well.

I sold mine about a month after purchasing my car.

Thanks guys! Been looking at a lot of cars recently, but didn't see that option often, now I know!

Anyone got an answer to my second question though? My understanding for PASM is it has two modes, normal and sport, but how does the sport mode get triggered if you don't have the Sports Chrono package, which means you don't get the Sport button?

TIA!

PASM is controlled by the SECOND button in that picture - the pictograph on the button looks like a little shock absorber. It lets you manually change from the 'normal' range of stiffness to the 'sport' range on the shocks. The picture shows the button illuminated, so the shocks are in SPORT mode when the pic was taken.

HTH...

Ah! Thank you! That question has bothered me for a long time, thanks for clarifying! From my research, quite a few people have stated Sports Chrono package is not a necessity for a manual car, and I just want to make sure it doesn't affect the PASM in anyway.
