Conversion details

Share your secrets

I'm still considering the 997.2 conversion for my 997.1 S. I have the list given to me before from the official dealer however, could you please give me much more inside information what you had done with your cars, I mean the wiring harnesses, connections, which pin goes where, the overall list, etc, that may help the guys at Porsche here? This will help me so much if you could get the guys there tell you their procedure and work in detail.

Here's the list;

Item Code Item

99750519105G2L 997.2 Front Bumper
9975055630501C Bumper screw threads
9975055410301C Fittings and pins
9975055640501C Bumper screw threads
9975753210401C Front air ducts
9975753220401C Front air ducts
99750591108G2L 997.2 Rear Bumper
99763108301 Daytime lights
99763108401 Daytime lights
99763141102 LED tail lights
99763141202 LED tail lights
99761851201 Control Unit (Coded and changed)
99763124100 Module
99761250125 Mini harness
+ PIWIS

Anything more?

Also there is a company in Germany, AP Car Design, check out their converted cars, they look amazing! They have the 2010 GT3 kits and everything.

So looking forward to hearing from you guys. If you could help, that would really really help me out.

I've also contacted Suncoast earlier, still waiting for a response. They told me they could get all parts needed for the conversion. I'm excited about this!

Cheers

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a 997.2?

I am sure that it isn't cheap, as well it may effect the value of your car, as a potential buyer may not believe that you just converted the car.

Just my 2 cents.

I didnt buy my car to sell it in short time, I don't see cars as investments, I'd like to grow older with my cars I know its silly.. Its not cheap, around $8,000 but I think its worth it.
I just need the details, explanations etc. Anyone have them?

From the list it looks like you're talking cosmetic conversion right? Because obviously there are many more changes under the skin. Just asking in case you get a raft of people talking PCM, updated instruments, mechanicals etc.

If you are going to do the conversion, and you aren't concerned with the money side of it, I think that you should do the back end as well, to keep it looking correct.

Sorry, I just saw that you had the rear stuff as well. I didn't see the rear bumper at first.

Exactly. He's north of NYC, don't know where you are in NY. His car looks really good. I think the back was easy, the front is a PIA, getting the DRLs going isn't easy. Good luck.

I've talked to him earlier, he offered his kind help but I sent him another new message about the details, where he had his car done at A.I in Tuckahoe, NY. I'm hopeful to hear from him

How may I get in touch with them? Do you think they will be willing to share their information about plugging and wiring etc?
