Entire new exhaust

I am a low end torque fiend, owning many a Mustang and currently owing a Mustang that has over 510 Tq. I was reading somewhere that I could change out the midpipe (if I am stating this properly) and gain 25lbs, what else can I do header wise and on the tail end, that will give me more torque.

There is not a lot of torque to be had by switching out the exhuast...... but you might pick up between 10-15lbs with aftermarket headers and 200 cel Cats.

I have a full GMG unit on my 997.1S and love it

I am looking at an add by Fabspeed that states their X-pipe yeilds over 27tq and their dual tone maxflo mufflers over 7tq, thats almost 35tq without headers! I know it is just an add, but what are your thoughts? Also, what headers would match up nice w/ that system? If this is true, then you are talking about 50tq increase, if I also do what you suggested. That is significant in my book.

Sigh...

M&M Exhaust sold in the US by FVD/Brombacher is in my opinion the best full system for a 997.2 S that money can buy. Headers/cats/mufflers/ecu flash and replacement air filter makes +38hp and +29tq.

For months I carefully analyzed and considered every option I could find and I made the choice to invest and install the FVD system on my 997.2 C4S. It is fantastic.

No drone under any condition, no sacrifice of low end tq.

An X pipe alone, on a 997.2 making 27tq? Do you believe that storks deliver babies? 50tq left on the table by Porsche??? Hey, can I borrow your bank account passwords? I swear I will never use them!

If AWE had a 997.2 system available I would have considered that very seriously, but it is not ready yet.

Two vendors have earned my trust and respect: FVD/Brombacher and AWE.

Check this link: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...aust-line.html

Go with a full system that is documented to work together. If you Frankenstein a system don't expect good things to result.

Good luck and be a smart shopper.

I did not say I believed it my friend, only asked for opinions on what I read in an add. I can give you my bank passwords, lets meet at one of my jobsites and I will give them to you, right before I throw you in the mixer!
I will check out your link, thanks.

I personally think that even the increas of 20-30ftlb's of TQ is inflated for a bolt on exhaust mod on an NA car.

Mod your exhaust for weight savings and sound as those are the only tangible benefits in my opinion.

Luca, do not believe what the adds say about any exhaust on a stock car will give you for performance. Also a Porsche is not about low end torque...unless you get a Turbo. What these are are all about is the twist and truns....all about handling and totally out running those Mustangs on the track wuth less HP.

Enjoy and welcome.

Hey Drums, thanks for the welcome. I am new to the Porsche world and know all to well in the V8 mustang world, that you will not get torque out of an exhaust, but since the 911 configurations, engine, exhaust, etc. are so unique, I wasnt sure. This is a major adjustment for me, since I have owned Roush mustangs since 02' and my latest is about 560hp / 560tq, that I am not used to the max power of the 911 being so high up in the range. However, the car runs circles around anything I have ever driven. It is in its own class and I am in love forever!
