VF Supercharger - share your personal experience pls
Tnx a lot guys,
My conclusions so far:
1. everyone has very good/excellent experience with the system
2. proper installation is the key
The thing is that I need bot installation and deinstallation in about 2 years time (when I plan to sell the car and get next generation Carrera). Selling a supercharged 911 in Europe (however good system is) would be a disaster or even impossible.
I'm beginning to think that the only proper way to do it would be to send the car to US for installation and than ship it back to Europe. I guess shipping (container ship) + insurance would not exceed US 4k total both ways. By shipping the car to US I wold avoid paying customs and taxes in Serbia (approximately 33% of the system's price) so its pretty close calculation. On the other hand it would require a lot of customs paperwork and at least 2 months...
Thanks again to everyone,
Iggy

I have the kit installed in Morocco by a good mecanic from Paris - France. I have rented a garage in Casablanca - Morocco and he came for 3 days to do the install (installation took 1-2 days and we used 1 day for testing or any case we had any issues). Installation was flawless as the mecanic was very good. The car is equipped with full milltek exhaust with sport cats and manifolds. I can give you his contact if you wanna bring him over to Serbia.
The mecanic contacted me few months later to get the car displayed at the Paris Tuning Show 2009 which seemed to bring a lot of interest by the press. The french magazine "Flat 6" did a review of the car with some track driving. The article was released in september 09. Here are the links:

Though I was not very impressed by the upgrade. If you are actually looking for a kick in the but when you hit the gas pedal like with a turbo, it's not what you would get. Actually there is not a big torque improvement. If you check the dyno data, you would notice that the power graph is exactly the same shape but with more power. You would feel it more when you are going high in the revs. The behavior at lower revs is exactly the same. The shifts are almost seamless at high revs and the niddle doesn't go down between shifts.
Also the power that is outputed at the engine is not the 480-520hp displayed by US dynos but only around 440hp.
Anyways to make a long story short, the kit is of good quality, the parts are well designed with good materials. The result is not like you are driving a different car but just driving the same car with a performance mod. You feel it but it's not like if you are driving a turbo or an F430.

Any mod will void your warranty, they will have to prove that the mod caused the failure. I would imagine that a forced induction car with a warranty claim would cause the dealer to look for any reason to deny a claim.

In any case, TPC is currently installing single turbos on 997's that are supposed to create 450HP at the rear wheels. Looking forward to the results.
CATTMAN
The TPC turbo does sound great but will definitely need to prove its numbers on something other than their dyno!
However I do believe they may have a winner!
I am hoping that the Gtech that I am passing around the country will verify all of my data that I am collecting and posting in another thread!

Stacy
Any issues with hoses blowing off at high boost?
Stacey, did you have any issues with the the elbow entering the throttle body blowing off at high boost? I have an early kit. Did they make an upgrade?

Been waiting a while for this.
