Booster seats for 997 C4S cab

In addition to wanting to upgrade the stock PCM system (see my other post this morning), I need to find a booster seat that will fit the rear of my C4S Cab.

While I have done a thorough search on the board...I can't seem to find a consensus of a single booster that is still available on the market and that will fit without needing to remove the rear seat.

I asked my local dealer about a solution but he informed me that the Porsche branded booster seat is currently between models (old is sold out in the USA and the new one is still not available) and would likely be cost prohibitive ($500-750!!!!, which can't be right, right?).

That said, can anyone point me in the direction of a known and available solution? My daughter will only likely need a booster for another year so I am looking to avoid a major purchase.

Thanks for your help and Happy Thanksgiving,

Stew

I just bought two Recaro Vivos ,$89 each, and they fit great for my twins.
I have a coupe however. I also opted to take the seats partly for room and partly so the kids don't mess them up. It was easy. There was a step by step thread posted here and it took me about 20 minutes to have everything set up.
Your kid needs to be 3 years and 30 lbs for the vivo.

That's helpful...do you know if the dimensions of the rear seats are the same for the cab (I note that you have the coupe)?

Is there anyone with a cab who has made a purchase recently?

Based on my research, what fits in the coupe doesn't necessary fits in the cab because the seats in the two cars are different. The cab has a much "straighter" seat back than the coupe to accomondate the roll over protection bars. I have a cab and I made do with a Sunshine Kids Radian carseat. It doesn't fit perfectly but it does fit, as opposed to the Britax Roundabout that I have that will not fit (yes I know the Porsche one is supposed to be the Britax Roundabout). I have removed the seat back, and I have removed the seat as well.

Remarkable that Recaro makes such a nice looking alternative for only $79. Thanks for the tip. NY just added a booster seat law.

There is a little bit of wobble in mine...but they fit well enough.

I left the seat backs and bottoms in.

Quick question re: Recaro seats, does the back of the booster detach from the bottom? (All I need is the boost from the bottom)

Thanks again...

No. The Recaro Vivo's back does not detach from the base.

Definitely, bring your car + kids, and have the sales person install the seats and have your kids try them out. (Make sure to actually buckle them in.)

I had my kids model a few different seats for me. The sales rep installed the Sunshine Radian, Recaro Vivo and Brittax parkway.

I originally bought the Sunshine Radians, as I liked the 5point harness...but I soon returned them after I wasn't able to get them in tight enough to stop wobbling. I didn't have the rear latch system installed. (BTW - There is no rear center tether latch on the 997.1 cab!)

I'll do just booster bases when my kids are a bit taller For now, I like the extra large sides on the Recaro's for head protection. Also, since the seats in the cab are so vertical, the sides are a little more comfortable for my kids when they slouch.

If you search in the forum, you'll find a few posts and pictures. Someone was selling booster (bases) seats, as well.

I bought a few extra discontinued Fisher Price Safe Voyage boosters (removable back and adjustable width) when I was lucky enough to find them for me. I use them in my coupe and my wife's S6 with sport seats. They work great. I have posted some pics before. PM me interested.
