Thumbs up Happy Turkey C4S Targa Day from TurkeyWerks

This Meteor Grey 2008 997 C4S Targa (so rarely see these here) came into us for a mild power upgrade in the form of the the Tubi exhaust system, Tubi headers, an EVOMS V-Flow intake and IPD plenum. This is the way to truly get the best sound out of the 997S motor.

Arriving for surgery as a GT3 leaves...

Up on the lift showing the stock headers and exhaust system.

On goes the Tubi mufflers which not only add that wonderful sound but take some weight off of the rear as well.

Both sides installed from underneath...

Next up are the longer tube, equal length Tubi headers:

Factory vs Tubi- note the vastly improved collector design.

And installed:

Next we tackle the factory intake and remove the throttle body and plenum:

Parts removed in preparation for the IPD Plenum and EVO Inake:

In goes the IPD Plenum:

Followed by the EVOMS V-Flow intake:

All in all a very simple process that only take a few hours. There she is ready to go home:

The customer made a quick video of his car revving before and after the Tubi exhaust:

Be safe and have a great day/weekend fellas!

I Do Love It!

Alex/James/Dan- many thanks for a super-fast installation. The garage bay was waiting for my arrival, and work commenced moments after I pulled up. I'm glad I returned for the headers and intake upgrades. Sound is deeper, fuller, and louder, but- no drone at cruise! All the way home on the freeway, I noticed more pep in 5th gear - the mild accelerations you do to pass cars were definitely quicker. At wide-open throttle, the "music" is intoxicating from the new intake and exhaust systems!

I was seriously thinking about a Turbo. But I love the styling of the Targa 4S, and now with the enhancements, I think I'll keep her.

Beautiful car. Kudos Checkerboard and well done Sharkwerks. Sharkster, forgive me if you've answered this a hundred times but, how have you found the performance of the tubi system with sport cats or cat bypass? I keep hearing very conflicting things...hoping to clear it up a little. Thanks

I dont think its is the performance that is affected but the quality of the sound with tubis and sport cats change dramatically.

Cheers Alex and Tubi (and many others) recommend against high-flow cats. With a good few miles/track use those things tend to come apart and cause CEL's etc....
