Wanting advise on 06 Cab
guys, i found an 06 S4 cab with 46,000 miles. the asking price is flat $52k. I had a guy check it out with a paint meter. he says the car has had no paintwork on it and the interior looks well taken care of. My concern is the mileage. Is the $52k too much for one that has that many miles on it? You may have seen it. it is at Crown Motorsports in Dallas. it is the white/tan. I need your help.....thanks
Well... that is the ballpark of what I paid 2 months ago for my 06 C2S Cab with 2500 miles. So I would say it is WAY over priced. I'm sure others can chime in with a fair price estimate.
I honestly can't believe how much prices have changed in the last 18 months. I got a fairly good deal on a well spec'd 06 C2S August of 2008 and I paid $68k
I'm so glad I paid cash but it doesn't half make me wish I'd waited

Lotta miles. You'll pay more in the long run in maintenence. You are really better off finding a car with half the miles even for more money. Also add the DME check to you list of items on your PPI. Good luck, you'll love it when you get it.

After ANY car breaks 50K miles it takes it largest depreciation hit . Some lenders won't even finance a car over 50K and the guy who buys one usually needs a loan . Add to that warranty is done , it's not even CPO . No good .
There is one positive piece of info . I never heard of the indy dealership and did a search and found this. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261886

I bought my 06 C2S cab this year, and did a lot of research. I found a very loose rule of thumb that most cars i looked at had depreciated appx $1,500/month from purchase for the first 3 years, then appx $1,000 month onward. Simple but pretty accurate as long as mileage is "normal" during the period.

I purchased an '06 C2S in June from a Dealer for $60K. CPO car with 14,000 miles with good options. I think the mileage and being a CPO car is important. That being said, the higher mileage would not scare me off if it was CPO and it was THE car I wanted as far as color and options and the price reflected that mileage. Good luck.
I think people are either getting crazy deals are embellishing a bit. On Porsche's preowned website, right now, an 06 C2S Cab with a certified warranty and well equipped, under 20k miles, is $55 to 65k...some are even higher. I would Not buy a car without the extended warranty. The guy who says he bought a C2S cab for the ballpark of $46k, either bought a car that had an accident, or is not being truthful. Buy a car with low mileage from a dealer, or an old guy who garage kept it and didn't track beat it. Get the preowned certification...gives you piece of mind and extend the warranty to 6 years from date of in service. So an '06 will be covered into 2012. Bose, xenons, power seats are a must in my book.
