How do you turn a boring Sunday into an exciting one? Simple, just get in your 997, find a twisty road and DRIVE!

I had a blast today driving in one of the best road No. CA offers. It is called the Bolinas-Faifax drive (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...SPJG197M51.DTL) which consists of what seems to be an endless supply of twisty roads and breathtaking views... The road ends at Highway 1 which I took back home through Stinson Beach. A few drops of rain along the way, but I had SO much fun! PSE was intoxicating and had me drive with the window down despite the cool 50 degrees weather (thank you heated seats). Here are few pics. I actually parked next to a new C4S cab which also had the PSE and some other cool options.

Definitely a must do drive if you live around here or come and visit!

Great report! How was the quality of the road surfaces, both the FairFax-Bolinas segment and Hwy 1 down to SF?

Drove that this summer on the way back from Napa. It was a great drive. Too bad we didn't have a better car for the cruise.

I live in the Bay Area as well. we should put together a list of great drives.

I just got my 997 a few weeks ago and am eager to find new stomping grounds.

My favorite is the Bear Creek Rd by Briones Reservoir and take it through lafayette. Another great one is the road that connects Clayton to Livermore through the backside of Mt Diablo.

I suggest we do that offline... through a closed email list. We do not want to publicize backroads...

Excellent. I just edited my previous post to remove any incriminating evidence.

For the most part of the Fairfax-Bolinas segment, the surface was quite good.... a few bumpy stretches, but nothing major. The road was absolutely deserted due to the less than ideal weather except for a few brave cyclists... The road is quite narrow though so beware.

The Highway 1 drive was blast especially from the end of the prior segment through Stinson Beach- smooth roads and a series of long/fast turns. You are at water level so you feel like you are driving over the ocean. Superb.

We should definitely organize a small caravan and go for drives.

Cheers!

There are no twisty roads in Florida . I did a Sunday drive but unlike yours the roads are actually kinda stressful . I was going to take pictures of my car but didn't and wanted to take pictures of the minivans, SUV's and pickup trucks swerving and driving stupid .. but I didn't.

Instead .. I made it to Delray Beach =1 Hr and took a nice deep breath. It was ovecast but real nice . I took pictures of the ocean , windsurfing , and it then after a bite was ready to drive home .. at night.. in the rain .

I still had fun but i wish I had roads like yours !!!!

Too funny. I drove this road in June with the family in the family road trip cruizer ('05 maxima). Entire time I was thinking...wow, this would be insane in the C2S. You are lucky to have that road in striking distance...

BTW...Stinson beach is pretty damn cool...
