C2S winter wheel / tires?

I currently have a stock C2S w/ 19" P-lobsters w/ summer tires.

I'm about to purchase my first set of winter tires & wheels. Need advice/guidance. I probably won't be pushing the car very much for the next 4 months (no winter rallies), so I don't think I need BBS's. Any suggestions?

I see these winter tires at TireRack. Are they all pretty much the same?

What do people put on for winter shoes in the North?

Winter tires

I have Nokian's on my C4S with Carrera IV 18 inch wheels. These came from my Porsche dealer mounted with TPMS, at least in September they gave me a pretty good deal. First season, so far seem very good.

If you search there have been many previous threads on the subject.

Use those from first link - PA2 N2. On any (cheap) 18" rims you`d like.

I agree with utkinpol - and Tire Rack has some great cheap 18" rims - you can see them on my car in my profile pic.

I got the 18" setup from Tirerack with the PA2's. Carbon copy of what mnmatt shows in his photo. Very happy.

I just installed 18in Allegrita (sp?) HLT rims with Alpin PA2s (discontinued pricing from Tirerac) on my 09 C2S yesterday. No snow action yet. So far so good driving on sunny 9 degree weather. I will post some pix soon and update review after first snow run.

Definitely go for the Michelin PA2's and 18 inch rims. Don't be fooled by anyone trying to convince you that all-season's will do the job.

I have a set of 8 x 18 (front) and 10.5 x 18 (rear) Carrera IV wheels that I just took out of my 997.2, some folks use it as a winter set. PM me if interested.

John,

I am very interested in your wheels. Please PM me your e-mail address, as I can't send PMs due to a low post count. Thanks

I drive my C4 all winter on Michelin Pilot Alpins 18". I just used the factory Carrera IIIs and bought Turbo 19" rims and tires for summer. Personally, I'd use OEM wheels because I prefer the look. Look around online and you'll fine take-offs or someone selling an extra set. Whatever you do, don't use your summer rims. You'll save countless hours at the tire shop if you have two sets and just swap them yourself.
