996TT or 997 Carrera S?

Do us all a favor and redo your summary of pros and cons based on the feedback you got on both forums (especially the stuff from the more objective guys)
Apart from that, I think many here faced the same decision and a test-drive resolved the issue.
I came close to buying a 2004 TTCab: while I liked the power when I pushed it, I thought the car was sluggish for daily driving when you are not revving it above 3500rpm, it always seemed to take a second to get boost.
Having said this, my S Cab is plenty fast, but I would not mind 50 extra hp!

and if worse comes to worse i can always supercharge it right?

Sure...I was offering a rebuttal to page one of this thread when somebody stated the C2s "smoked" a 996tt. That very obviously isn't the case.

personally, I doubt that this makes any sense - if you need more oomph and you are thinking about investing $15-20k for supercharging, you are better off with buying a 2007 TT for about $70k - the resale value will be a lot better

I my universe good '07 turbo costs about of $94K. I just looked at cars.com for something else and also checked recent 911 prices. Decent '06 C2S are all in $65K+ area. All '07 are in stratosphere. Used market is gone.

Yes, Ive notice this big jump as well. Good for us, bad for the buyer.

uggh. this is killing me. 996 TT w/ 21k miles no warranty. 997 C2S w/ 23k miles CPO 2 yr/100miles.
996 - $50500 no navi, heated seats, full leather
997 - $54000 navi, heated seats, leather
the reliability does scare me a little on the 996 since it's a 2002.... aslkdjfklajsdlfjsdf

how many miles and was it CPO'd by the dealer? im getting it from the porsche dealer that's why it's a bit more.
#42
$54k sounds like a lot for the car, I assume it is at a Porsche dealer. Think about buying from private, make sure you have all the receipts for services, low mileage and have the dealer check in through in detail (cost about $250k) - if anything goes wrong you still have the warranty.
I would be very careful to touch the 2002 TT - that car is almost 9years old and even well maintained will get expensive

I paid $51.5 for my 06 S-Cab, full leather, navi, Bose, Tiptronic with 24000 miles ...
Keep in mind that you still have to pay sales tax on yours when buying from a dealer, that is another $3500-$4000k
#44
yup ive factored that in as well. that's a good price was yours under warranty though?
#45
yes, had warranty left and had everything possibly wrong fixed (which was really nothing to speak of, less than $500 worth) Had the car fixed from both Porsche and my independant dealer that does nothing but Porsche (and he heads the local Porsche Club)
