Cayman S 2009 is infamous around these parts
uphill start?

I found my 977.2 c4s roll back when stop at uphill position in D gear. After I brake and release, then it stop and hold there. Is it normal? Do we have a uphill start function? I remember I saw it from the Prosche 911 video.

Yes. All 997.2 models have hill-assist. The brake remains on for about 2s when the brake pedal is released.

I've noticed its not just on any hill. Some with a very slight incline the brake does not engage. (Not sure what angle the car has to be at for the 2Sec safety hold to take place)

Can you use the hand break start, like a manual transmission?

My Owner's Manual says 5% gradient. What does that mean? : http://www.csgnetwork.com/inclinedeclinegradecalc.html. 100% grade is 45 degrees. 5% should be 2.86 degrees...according to Excel.

The manual also explains when the feature works and under what conditions.
