As the odomometer nears 10K miles
Just clocked 24k and adding the miles as a DD does bug me a bit. I had a garage queen and always took the train. Now I can drive every day or take the train. Any time I take the train I miss driving the car so much I'm dieing to get behind the wheel the next day. So, the miles, whatever, I love driving the car every day.
WTF is that supposed to mean?
Damn HBO and their stupid "Sorpanos" series. That show did nothing to improve the image of our fair state and it's citizens.
We're not all a bunch of mobsters you know. True the car insurance and property tax are wicked high here but it's not much, if any better where you live in "Tax-a-chusettes". I know, I have a cousin who lives on Martha's Vineyard.

Taxes are crazy here, that`s damn right. MA isnt` a heaven on earth by no standards.

+1...its like you are torn. I don't want to drive it everyday but I have to drive it everyday.

Nope, don`t get upset over this. Still, several people I know here in MA rode to NJ to get it done, whether one may like it or not. I personally think it is not NJ by itself but mostly NYC influence. Nevertheless, what is it - it is.

I'm actually in North Central NJ so I never developed the accent. That's mostly the folks in Bergen and Hudson counties dat tawk like dat!
You do have a point about the NY influence because those two counties are closest to the city.I never hung out at "Pizzaland" either although I must admit that "Satin Dolls" which is a real life go-go bar on Route 17 and featured in "The Sopranos" used to be a Yamaha motorcyle dealer back in the 70's. I bought a couple of dirt bikes from them when I was a teenager. Also, my Dad's E-Class came from "Globe Motors" which is a real life Mercedes-Benz dealer and also featured in the show.
Larry, with all those mods on the car you need to take it to Homestead or Sebring to stretch it's legs and let it breath some. I know you would really have fun, meet some great people and learn some driving skill plus also be able to really experience and use those mods to there fullest and enjoy them.
My car isn't exactly a garage queen . It does have 10K miles in 2.5 years which places it in the 4500 mi a year range. It is used but preserved.
If a leak were to develop (which it hasn't) it still woild not detract from the last 2.5 years of happiness with the car. Had I driven it to 30K miles there's also no saying whether it woild have not faced a problem as well. In fact I can think of dings on my Honda and M3 that would have been on my Turbo had I driven it often .
Having multiple cars gives a variety of choice -- a car for each mood or driving circumstance . In fact if the emphasis is this concept of being a true driver then having more cars gives driving added experiences .

I woke up today and it was a beautiful day . It was cold by Florida standards . The high was only in the mid 60's and the low is expected to be in the 40's making this unseasonably cold . This is ideal weather in the life of my Turbo . No humidity , nice and cool, sunny.
How does humidity affect a Turbo?
Hot and humid weather choke the Turbo. The ideal climate is actually cold and dry .

I still highly suggest you do a PCA DE. Goldcoast is your local club and is a great club and they run at Homestead and Sebring. I run run a lot of DE's and instruct for PCA, Chin and PBOC and have a blast instructing, the people and getting to experience my car at it's fullest.
Part of me enjoys daily use but not at the expense of watching the car age so rapidly . There's also the aspect of anticipation and novelty. You express that when you don't drive it you miss it . It's those feelings in its absence which give it an even deeper appreciation . That does not mean that I won't drive my car three days in a row . I might. But I like to let it rest when I am still at the height of its enjoyment . This way .. coming back to it leaves a memory in place and has me that much more thrilled right before I start it up.
