Winters are pretty cold here in NY. Ironic, I have had heated seats and steering wheel in every car I've ever owned (since they started making it) and have NEVER used it once.

We are expected to be back in the high 70's (avg highs) by Thursday

Just a word of caution from one northerner - exposed water pipes freeze and then when the thaw comes, they burst.

I am originally from NY and as a young person heated seats were not even out yet. By the time they came out I had lived in Florida yet many of the cars here do in fact have them . About 1/3 of my more recent cars were bought off the lot with heated seats . In fact I thought my white PDK had them but never really looked . Pehaps the anticipation of having them with a wet head and no jacket placed emphasis on my not having them .

The news this AM says 36 degrees and portions of the area reached the upper 20's making it a record breaker . I peeked my head out my door to take the first breath of air this cold in years . Yikes!!!

Yep --if I lived in this daily I would want those heated seats .

Yesterday tied a record low and there were reports of snow flurries on the news . Today is equally as cold. It's miserable . I want my warm weather life back.

Anyway today after lap swimmimg (indoors) the only motivation driving me from the warmth of the building to my parked car what the thought that I would use my seat warmers . I have them in my Turbo .I had them in my 05 launch car. I just assumed that all sports adaptive seats have them .

I didn't have a jacket , hair was wet but it was only 50 yards or so to my parked car . How bad can it be in 42 degrees ? After all I have seat warmers !!!

Man was I wrong !!! I get in the car and its dark . Forget the thought of reading an owners manual . I search for the buttons and there were none.
I start the car and cold air blows out . Apparently I have it set to air conditioner . Not good .

So I have no seat warmers and the one time I actually needed them I was letdown. It's funny how a missing option is viewed in that moment .

Can they be installed? Probably not worth it . Anyone live in the cold without them?
Welcome back to America.
I wonder if you`ll get 14 degrees on regular basis this winter as we get here.

Try getting into your 911 when its showing 18 degrees out. It still takes a few minutes for the seat warmers to kick in. Faster then the heat but not by much. don't worry about it.

Sorry your 'tush' could not get warm - , but since I got my 09 C2S Cab
two weeks ago, I have continually used both the heated seats and heated steering wheel.

BTW - the seats gets too hot on the high setting!! I have been turning it on initially on the high setting, then in only minutes reducing it to the low setting. See what you are missing!!

The 1st time is tried to turn on the seat warmer - by mistake I turned on the seat ventillation .

It was 27 degrees this morning in the normally-60-degree-weather Tampa. It was cold and I was glad I had heated seats. It's one of the very, very, very few occasions when I needed to turn on the "burning" grid

We also had 27 degrees this morning. Seat warmer is nice and toasty. I bought a '08 997tt which was original purchased from Champion Porsche in Florida. It came without seat warmers. I thought at that moment that it is beyond cheap on a $140k car not to have a $200 option for seat warmers. Would make it easier to sell up north. I have seat warmers in all my other cars. The biggest problem is for one the wiring and secondly the heating pad. I just bought from a board member some alcantar GT3RS seats for my Cayman. They did not have seat warmers. Car and seats are currently with my Porsche dealer ship. I asked them to look into moving the heating pad. But neither one of us knew whether it can be easily be removed or whether it is actually a part of the upholstery.

Will let you know when i know.

I do have them in my Turbo which does leave me the option of taking that car . It's not usually my parking lot at the pool vehicle so it would have to be colder than yesterday to do it . I can see how the heated steering wheel and warmers might come in handy ina cab in So Cal.

I have never seen a Turbo without them . Most here do in fact have them . I may opt not to install them because I do have the Turbo which presents a choice of using that car instead .I'm still thinking it over but if I opt to install them I will post on it. On the fence with the decision and usually that means I won't .

Heated seats were the only requirement from my wife. I've offered her the keys on a few occasions but she just told me flat out she doesn't want to drive it... she just wants to sit shotgun with a warm butt.
