Where's the engine Number ???

I want to check the engine number of my 997s but cannot find it. Can someone tell me were to look or (even better) post a picture?

philcr2800 is infamous around these parts

You will find it under the engine, on the side of the oil carter. The user manual displays a picture.

Phil is correct... it is on the side of the oil sump (in Spanish it is also cárter) on the left side when seen from behind, if I am not mistaken.
