Does anyone know if the new car will be here this fall as a 2011 model or not till 2011 as a 2012 model? I am hoping the duck tail spoiler and Fuchs style wheels ala the sport classic will be available as an option. I made some mistakes when ordering my 09' but I will get the options right this time.

Am I wrong to say that the design cycle for 911 is 4 years, meaning we had 997.1 from 2005 to 2008, then 997.2 started in 2009. Shouldn't the new design be introduced in 2012 as 2013 model?

Going by the 996 lifecycle and its 2002 facelift would imply a 2012 model year change at the latest, since 2012 will be the 4th year of the 997.2.

1998 - 2001 = 4 years
2002 - 2004 = 3 years
996 Total = 7 years

2005 - 2008 = 4 years
2009 - 2012 = 4 years
997 Total = 8 years

The extra year of the 997 vintage cars would be justified due to the addition of DFI. The 996 had a power upgrade in 2002, but it was less significant (moving from 3.4L to 3.6L).
