Decisions, decisions... 2010 - C2S vs C4S
Decisions, decisions... 2010 - C2S vs C4S
Alright.. I know this has been discussed a zillion times and I've read as much as I can consume about it, I want to pose this question (again)...
2010.. both optioned almost identically (PDK, Turbo Wheels, Sport Chrono+, etc)
Contestant #1:
C4S - Arctic Silver - Black Interior
Contestant #2:
C2S - White (not cream) - Black Interior
I drove both. I will probably never put this car on the track. I live in South Florida where there is a rainy season but (obviously) no snow. This will be my daily driver (60 miles/day, 40 highway, 20 streets).
My impressions after driving both are basically the C2S feels lighter up front (almost like you are going to take off). The C4S definitely gives me more confidence (not sure if this in my head or not). It feels more planted up front.
The C2S gave me a more unencumbered drive - felt quicker out of turns.
Looks wise... I like the silver better.. The extra wide body is certainly nicer but not a deal breaker.
Of course, the C4S is about $6k more but in the whole scheme of things probably not a material difference.
Questions...
Is the C4S slower straight line?
Which has better resale value?
And this would be my first Porsche FWIW..

+1, even in Vancouver's rainy season (January 1- December 31) the two wheel drive is fine. If you want a more planted feel on a C2S lower it, much better feel IMO.
Is it just me or are people putting WAAYYYYY too much stock in a 4 wheel drive car? For the price of these cars 6k more for the c4 is trivial, you could spend 20k in options. Money is certainly not the issue. The driving experience, to me, seems more pure in a conventional 2 wheel, rear wheel drive car.
PS As far as in inclement weather, tires is all that matters.
