This past Monday I was looking out my office window into the parking lot and there was a kid, maybe 12-13y/o standing next to my car and an adult was snapping a few pictures.

Ditto. You took the words out of my mouth. I get people all the time staring at red lights trying to figure out what the hell is going on with my license plate. Sometimes I'll raise the spolier before departure depending on my mood.

It is funny how people will steal a peep, then look away and play it cool if you face them or engage them. I've had a few people match my speed on roads, which is a little dangerous. I don't like that. It is worse in my husbands car.

At a stop light, I figure if my windows are down, or if the top is dropped, then dialog with strangers happens almost once a day. I also get the comments when I park. I've had a zillion lame conversationalists that seem to loose all sensibilities...for example "take me for a ride?", "how much does something like that cost?", "whats your insurance?". I've also had the creepy comments: Just last month, one guy (early 20's) whistled, grabbed his crotch and said... "I'm fantasizing about your car tonight." Woah!

As a new owner, I'm surprised at how many people admire the car while driving by, then feel the need to step on the gas and show me that, usually in a 30 mile speed zone, they can pass me. Here in Denver, it's usually a guy in a pickup truck. Just can't figure out what they are trying to prove.

I don't offer the hot girls a ride.... I ask them if THEY would like to drive it themselves. I find this works much better

I find it interesting to note the differences in reaction of my 997S compared to my Turbo . The 997S with the absence of an aerokit and in a softer color combination tends to get pointed at moreso by women or professional 28-40 year old drivers . The Turbo on the other hand which is all slammed up with wheels and aerokit in black get the more rebellious admiration. In fact --the same type who admire the white car often smirk at the Turbo and visa versa .

Of the two .. the Turbo gets the most attention. In fact sometimes its hard to change a lane . I speed up and so does the car next to it. I slow down and they slow down too. They are not camera shy. I have had at least 5 people open the window to ask about the car at a light .

Once I even mentioned 6speed to a guy who liked my car at a red light. I told him that he might want to read more about the cars here on 6speed. He posted... https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...p-kit-rt1.html

Sometimes when people point .. the first thing I wonder if they read 6speed. I keep waiting for the day I hear "hey yrralis1." Do any of you guys ever think this ?

Sandy it happens all the time! People want to show you their car can beat yours. It gets soooo tired. If you ask me, we're the secure ones. They are the insecure ones.

Yep !!! It's a specific type of guy too --an insecure one .

Miami has tons of them --all beefed up with 40 extra pounds and attitude trying to prove something that I have yet to figure out . I just let them go by and believe that they can win . Maybe they are in a hurry to get home so that their grandmother can cook them dinner.

It really aggravates me when people ask about costs associated with or purchase price of the car. I just find it inappropriate and usually reply with a comment about how long I saved for the car.

EVERYBODY who doesn't know cars asks if it's the turbo. I wanna say, does it look like a turbo? One day I'm gonna just say yes.

I got that recently coming out of the grocery store and unlocking the car. Some transient asked me how much one of those costs...not sure, he could have been a Trans Am or Corvette guy.
