Go to the PCCB conversion link...Mike (mikymu) does a comprehensive brake swap. You should be able to flip down to the pad section.

Says the guy that can't spell

I don't, I won't, and I will not ever buy a Prius! I am enjoying the negative press that the Prius is getting about it's brake issues.

BTW, I drove my Porsche today! Did you?

Closed calipers? I have a base model. You remove the cotter pin and lightly tap out the pin while holding the retaining clip down. Remove sensors with pliers, reclip in new pads. Spread pads and slide them put. Super easy.

I'm not sure what anyone is saying about the closed caliper.

What colour are your Calipers? Do you have pictures of them?

I hope the comment your are reacting to was a joke, because changing brake pads for a Carrera is the same as changing pads on a Carrera S. And for that matter the same as changing pads on a Boxster or Boxster S.

Part numbers differ from the various models, is all.

This site is still the best overall resource for changing brake pads on the 996-997/986-987's in my opinion.

Trygve's Boxster Brake Pad Changing Instructions

The standard Carrera has closed back calipers last time looked...so you have to take the caliper off to change the pad. The S version has open back calipers and the caliper stays mounted and it is much faster to swap out pads.
