Either a Scam or a Steal on Autotrader

Saw this 07 CS2 Cabrio with Chrono Black on Black 22k Miles price 29k !! Says no accidents and 1 owner. Maybe this is the mythical "going through a divorce and selling husbands Porsche listing!"

What the?

This garage looks familiar. But I am not 100% sure. I think a dealer called "GEARS" or so makes always this listings in front of such garage.

So I would vote for scam

It's got to be a scam.

geestyleed is right. Below is the link from G.E.A.R.S motorsports.

This has been on the market for a little while, at least 3 months, (about how long I've been in the market).

Hahaha, S.C.A.M. A bunch of us should start inquiring on this car and see if we could get it bid up just to screw with them.

I already email'd them and asked why the car was 1/2 off! No response.

I see these types of listings from time to time, saw a Viper for sale 1 owner for 20k, etc.

Who in the world is doing this? Are they actually getting away with it? They are better off doing this with a Toyota or Ford, a car that the buyer may not be as educated and passionate about..I assume they then say please send a 50% deposit to this wire account..

Could be a typo. Maybe they list more than one car just got confused.

Or maybe they purposely list low to get you to call, then explain it as a typo. When I was looking in December, I saw a car I liked at a decent price at a GM Dealership on east coast. When I called, the salesman said they didn't actually have the car anymore, but would try to find one like it if I wanted one like it. I told him to forget it. Couldn't believe they would do stuff like that.

Here is the email I got from "them"

Hi,

The car looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no repairs. Never had any paint or body work, it has a clean title history. The interior has never been smoked in and it was always garaged. All maintenance has been done on time and I have all service records for it.
I have a low price ( $ 29,976 ) because I'm looking for a quick cash sale. I'm selling the car because my husband died 4 months ago and I'm always traveling for work. This was his car and I don't need it anymore. Unfortunately I can't conclude this transaction personally but I left everything prepared for the sale. I want a fast and safe transaction for both of us, so please let me know if you have the funds available and wish to explain you the payment and shipping process.

Regards,

Patricia

Can't do the transaction herself - another flag. Show up with cash and they take it and spare your life.

Yes, this is a scam. Once they have you on the 'hook', the next e-mail you get will be to sign up for a 'perfectly safe online escrow account service' to handle the transaction. Once you put your money there, everyone disappears.
